Hi all- I'm getting a BAD_POOL_HEADER BSOD whenever the computer goes to sleep itself. I've attached the zip to take a look at. Maybe someone here can guide me in the right direction to fix this?

Thanks.

I noticed that you don't have Secure Boot and/or UEFI enabled. If you were having problems with it and changed it, please let us know.
It's not necessary to enable it now. But, should you reinstall Windows at some point in the future, please enable it first.

I mention this because it may happen that (one day) the system won't boot. This can be caused by a program changing your UEFI settings, or an update of the UEFI resetting it to default values.

To test and see if this is the cause, boot into the UEFI and see if the settings have been changed. If uncertain, try with Secure Boot both on and off (and the UEFI on UEFI or Legacy (CSM))

If it still doesn't boot after trying this, then move on to other troubleshooting tools as it's not likely to be due to this.

You have 3 hard drives. What is the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply?

These devices have issues in Device Manager:
Photosmart C4700 series ROOT\MULTIFUNCTION\0000 This device is disabled.

Generic Bluetooth Adapter USB\VID_8087&PID_07DC\5&212AC8FC&0&11 43
Normally I don't worry about disabled printers - but be sure that the drivers are updated.
As for the Bluetooth - a code 43 is that there were problems reported w/the device

For starters, update the Intel Bluetooth drivers to the latest, Win8.1 compatible version. DO NOT USE Win8 versions as they have issues when used in Win8.1 Once updated, check in Device Manager to see if the problem is solved.

Riva Tuner (along with EVGA Precision and MSI Afterburner) are known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems (it's driver is usually RTCore64.sys). Please un-install them immediately!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

Please uninstall Gigabyte's Easy Saver (and EasyTune or ET6 if installed) - they are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems. gdrv.sys is the Easy Saver driver.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

AppleCharger.sys Sun Oct 27 21:59:21 2013 (526DC4F9)
GIGABYTE On/Off Charge driver. See here for details - GIGABYTE ON/OFF Charge [br] May cause BSOD on Win7/8 systems - uninstall to test (haven't seen recently (15Jan2013))
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=AppleCharger.sys

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

  1. Thanks for the post! Alright, so I dont have secure boot/UEFI enabled because I am also running a hackintosh setup on the other SSD and the bootloader can't boot with UEFI. I have 3 hard drives, 2 samsung 840 evo's and a WD 1TB. My powersupply is a corsair cs650m-- also running a gtx 760 to note. The power supply is brand new-- maybe 3 weeks old.
  2. I will update the drivers for the printer, but I had thought I got the latest one maybe 2 weeks ago. Will update if there is one. I will also update intel bluetooth drivers. I will also install Riva Tuner, EVGA Precision.

So I uninstalled everything recommended. My printer driver was already at the latest driver. I've attached the files through SF diagnostic after I made all the changes. Let me know if there is anything else I can do

The Gigabyte On/Off Charger is the program to uninstall if you're removing AppleCharger.sys
If you can't find it, don't worry about it overmuch - as this hasn't been a common problem for at least a year.

Now we wait. If the BSOD's continue, zip up the contents of C:\Windows\Minidump and upload it with your next post (you may have to copy them to your Desktop in order to zip them up).

If the BSOD's don't continue, then it's fixed! I usually wait a week before hoping that it's fixed, and another week before deciding that it's fixed - but that's just an estimate on my part.

Good luck!
