Multiple BSOD could be caused by AMD Drivers

Hello I built my first PC in summer 2013 and since then have had multiple BSOD which have sometimes been really close together and sometimes really far apart and me and a friend can not figure out exactly what is causing them any help would be appreciated. What I mainly want to know is if it is hardware related or just related to me installing any of the 14.x Drivers from AMD

The one thing I have noticed. If I remember correctly it never BSOD during games I feel like its always when I'm watching a video online.

Hi there SeanIsFail and Welcome to the forums!

I am currently analyzing your DUMP files and will soon post a detailed piece of information. The latest 2-3 dump files point towards a WHEA exception which means hardware fault. Another thing is that some DUMP files point towards the "ATIKMDAG.sys" driver file which is found in the AMD Video Driver package. This is a small possibility but it would help in elimination of possible causes.

    Driver Reference Table

Please remove the Catalyst Control Center and only install the Display Driver. You can find the latest AMD catalyst drivers over here :- http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx

Please let me know the results and in the mean time, I will further analyze your DUMP files more.

Hey thanks for the reply a couple days ago I removed the 14.x drivers and went back to 13.x and so far no BSOD and as for the WHEA exception my friend who helped me build the computer said that happens from time to time not often and as far as I know that is the first WHEA I have ever had on this PC.

Glad to see that the problem has not occurred again till now. Please test your system thoroughly for stability and then you could mark this thread as Solved.

Furthermore, a random BSOD once a year should not be a cause of worry unless and until you are having a data centre :P

Yeah as I said its usually caused by the ATI thing but my friend with a very similar system never has any BSOD issues and the WHEA thing has only happened once. How should a test my system to make sure?

For testing system stability, the best way is that you use your PC like you normally do.
