BSOD While windows is loading, error 0xc0000001

    Hello everybody,
Randomly today my computer decided it did not want to boot. It originally had a different error code, but I found a tutorial on how to fix it, I followed the tutorial and my problem stayed the same but my error code changed. Basically something is wrong with my boot sector.
The initial code was 0xc0000225 and I used this tutorial to solve it: Solution to your PC needs to be repaired Error code: 0xc0000225
After that I got the new error: 0xc0000001. I have tried rebuilding the BCD, I have tried fixing the master boot record. I even started to go as far as to do a system "refresh" but windows told me that the HDD was locked and I have to unlock it to do a refresh, which Id much rather not do. When I tried to rebuild the BCD it detected my OS but when I told it to add it to the boot list it says "The requested system device cannot be found". The weirdest thing is everywhere I look I am told to use the windows startup settings but they are totally missing from the menu. I booted to my bootable Windows 8 64 bit flash drive, selected repair my computer, then selected troubleshoot and advanced options and the only things that are available are system restore, system image recovery, automatic repair and command prompt. right under command prompt is where startup settings should be. anybody have any ideas!? im really frustrated with this. I cant reformat because I have a lot of stuff that would take forever to get back like music etc.
ps automatic repair didnt do anything. Safe mode does not boot either.

    Win8.1Pro - Finally!!!

I got this error yesterday on a Samsung laptop (it came with Win8, but was downgraded to Win7)
This was after I had updated the BIOS(UEFI).

It turns out that the update had turned the UEFI/Secure Boot back on.T

Turning it off and enabling Legacy/CSM in the UEFI allowed me to boot to Win7 without issue. Try that with yours (or, if it's off, try turning it on).

Let us know if this helps. If not there's several other things to try.
I'm late for work right now, but will check back within 24 hours to see what happened.

Hello usasma, and thank you for your response.
Unfortunately changing those settings doesnt fix my computer, I had to change those settings just to be able to boot from my win8 flash drive. I believe it has something to do with the boot sector of the drive. Windows loads and its basically when the computer goes from the loading screen to the login screen, I never see the login screen it just BSOD's on me. Its almost as if it completely loads windows before I get BSOD because the little balls will go in a circle as they are supposd to and theyll go around about twice which is normal boot time for me and then the screen will go black as it normally does before the lock screen then I get BSOD.

If you're not able to get into Windows, we're not going to be much help here - as we rely on reports from the system in order to diagnose the causes.

If you can get into Windows, Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum): Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions Please use Option 1 as it provides Event Viewer logs.

If able to get to the menu to Refresh - try that. It'll keep your files intact (although you may lose some apps from the Microsoft Store).

Or, you can slave your hard drive to another system in order to recovery your data - then do a Reset of the OS on the laptop.

It's possible that none of these may work - in which case we have to wonder if the hard drive is dead/dying. If that's the case, then recovering your data is critical - as you don't know when the drive will finally die.
