BSOD dpc_watchdog_violation

Hello, So a bit earlier I had installed a game and not long after I started to crash and receive DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION errors. I did a bit of looking online and seen some solutions involving some driver updates and such mainly with SSD's, However none of these seemed to of solved the issue.

I have a feeling it may be something to do with my video card or drivers since it only seems to happen when I launch games but at random. (sometimes right away other times I may get about 30 min in.)

My Computer

System One

  • OS
    windows 8.1
Please make sure that you have ALL available Windows Updates.

D: drive only has about 5% free space. Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance. Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty)

You have at least 3 hard drives. What is the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply?

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disk-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

The BSOD errors listed in the WER section of MSINFO32 are suggestive of a problem with your Motorola USB Composite Device (and the analysis of the memory dumps agrees with this). Please uninstall the Motorola device and physically remove it from your system - then test to see if that stops the BSOD's. If it does, and if you want to reinstall the Motorola device, please download a fresh copy of the latest, Win8.1 compatible drivers for it from the manufacturer's website.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed.
