Did you installed the driver from 13-11-1013, because these are compatible with windows 8.1. according to T-link.

According to your driverlist the driver on your computer is from 14 may 2013 and that one is before the introduction of windows 8.1(17 oct 2013)

Your T-link Adapter is compatible with windows 8.( will probably also work in windows 8.1), but it needs a upgrade according to this compatibility list http://www.tp-link.com/common/Promo/en/win8compatibility/. to their latest driver.

Could you give the specific name and model of your wireless usb network adapter ( probably Atheros .................)

Device Manager => Networkadapter => Atheros .............

And the driver version :
Atheros .....? => Rightclick => Properties => open window Driver

To verify your current version.

So i can search more specific for a solution.

Its not wireless.. The LAN Card is Qualcomm Atheros AR8131 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)
I use the TP-LINK for getting Wi-Fi around my house.. I have a wired connection.

According to T-link if you already installed a (older) driver you must look for Atheros AR9721 Wireless Network Adapter.

If there is no driver yet installed look for USB2.0 WLAN.

Please look in Device manager if you can find it.

If you have it you must update this driver by this manual How to Manually Install Adapters on Windows 8? - Welcome to TP-LINK

Let me make you understand things..
First I have both TP-LINK and Atheros AR8131 Drivers updated to the very latest.. Here is the driver details if you want..

Next I want to say to that I don't have any wireless network adapter.. I don't need it.. but the TP-LINK acts as a wireless adapter.. there is no problem with drivers.. I have again re-installed TP-LINK Driver and updated the Atheros AR8131 Driver to the latest.. Now give me time a 2 weeks time.. I'll test with the new drivers and report here again if any problems..
