BSOD on computer start up, After fresh Windows install

    Hello,

I recently re installed Windows 8 then upgraded to Windows 8.1 because I was having BSOD. Now on the fresh install, which is 4 days or so old, my computer BSOD on start up like before.

My guess hardware failure or Norton....

    Thank you for your help.

Uninstall Norton, use removal tool after. Set Windows Defender and Windows Firewall to Auto.

    Uninstall HotspotShield.

    Update: AE3000w764 AE3000w764.sys Fri Mar 02 05:57:24 2012 (4F50A794)

    Uninstall if issues persist:

    and NeoVPN (SoftEther)

I did uninstall SothEther, Hotspot shield, and Norton.

Computer seems to be starting up normally with no crashes.

    Hello,

Sorry for the trouble. I am Vineeth and I am from the Norton Support team.

There are chances that the version of Norton installed on Windows 8 was not compatible with Windows 8.1. Only the latest version of Norton product is compatible with Windows 8.1

Please download and install the latest version of your Norton product from the following support article: Download the Norton product

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks!

    Thank you for your response.

I will say I was running Norton 360. The program itself was up to date from what I can tell. I ran live update numerous times until it couldn't find anymore updates. I even would right click it in the task bar to make it check for new versions of the program as well.

Will try the steps aforementioned and I will keep you posted.
