Solved Asus S550C BSOD ntoskrnl.exe

I receive a "driver power state failure" whenever I try to shutdown/restart my computer. I did a fresh install of Win8 hoping that would fix the issue, but it still persists (caused by driver ntoskrnl.exe). Shutting down hasn't been a problem in safe mode. I don't really know anything about computers, so I'm not sure how to proceed with the information gathered from "bluescreenview." I would appreciate any help. I think I have attached the required files in a rar file.

Only 8 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 160 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Is there a reason that Secure Boot is turned off?

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.
Processor may be overclocked!
Expected Frequency: 2000
Actual Frequency: 2494
Overclock Ratio: 1.247

I suspect that your Intel storage drivers (iaStorA.sys) are to blame. If you're able, please update them from the manufacturer's website.

Then (or if you are unable to update them), please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

Thanks for the help. I installed all of the windows updates and updated the intel storage driver. I want to see if that fixes the issue before I run the driver verifier program (I'm currently in Asia and can't risk really screwing up my laptop in case it goes wrong). I didn't know my secure boot was turned off. Should I turn that on and if so how? I also had to Google overclocking after reading your reply haha so I definitely didn't know that was even happening. I'll post again if/when the power state failure returns after shutdown. Thanks.

Okay, thanks again for the help. I haven't had a problem shutting down since updating my Intel storage drivers. I'm going to update everything to 8.1. I'll consider this problem solved.

Cheers.
