BSOD Critical Process Died even after complete reinstall

    Minidump: http://1drv.ms/1kvPiel

Memtest came back good. No errors. Also thought I should mention temps are just fine, nothing going above 50C.

(I was running 8.1 before the reinstall) So randomly about a week ago my computer started to bsod out of nowhere saying Critical Prcoess died. Then I started getting Kernal data inpage error. I, of course, googled the issue and there seems to be no solid fix for them. After some fiddlig I seemed to make the bsods stop (could have been luck) and then I was only getting hard locks. No bsod, but everything, including the cursor, was frozen. No ctrl alt del could fix it, it was stuck and required a hard reset. Some thought it was registry errors, others thought it was hardware.

I think I have ruled out software after a reinstall, and still having the issue.

If anyone has any insight to this issue, any input would be great thanks! I've pretty much figured it's something hardware, but I just can't figure out what it is.

Tried removing the ram and running the computer on one stick? Then remove that try the next stick?

I ran mem diagnostics, said it was ok but it wasn't. Found a bad stick doing the above. Worth a try?

I just wonder why my RAM would be okay for like 8 months now and just now decide to kaputt. From my experience RAM lasts a while, is there a typical reason why ram breaks?

I don't know if its the ram, could be anything, I just know I had the exact same issue as you but with win7

I hope its one of your sticks, cheaper than a new board or cpu.

As for why they die, who knows, anything from a slight surge to an act of god.
I also don't know how 3 different diagnostic programs never found the bad stick I had. Nothing is perfect It would seem.

Okay.. I'll give it a try. Will take a while because I have 4 sticks and I can't really replicate the issue; it's random.

Alright, I took out every RAM module one stick at a time, and all four times my system still froze.

Also my way of "testing" it was to run a 10 hour youtube video and a game while I was away. (most of my freezes were watching youtube and playing games.)

Notably, almost every time I came back to it the system was still running, but soon after doing things the system would freeze. I think that is definitely worth noting.

If you wouldn't have been a dunce and not listened, used Killdisk, your problems would be over and you wouldn't be bothering people that can't help you anyway.

    Win8.1Pro - Finally!!!

If you have stopped the BSOD's, but the freezing/black screen persists - this is fairly common with some BSOD's
IMO it's likely that you've fixed one part of several that were causing the BSOD's - and the remaining problems are causing the freezes/black screen issues.

    Please do the following:
    - open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
    - expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
    - right click on Administrative Events
    - select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
    - save the file as Admin.evtx
    - zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
    - upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

While waiting for a reply, please monitor your temps with this free utility: HWMonitor CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

Only 118 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 160 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Is there any particular reason that you are not using UEFI/SecureBoot?

The WER section of MSINFO32 shows some disk/hardware errors. Please run the following diagnostics: Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure on all hard drives.

Ensure that the SSD has the latest firmware and that that storage drivers for your motherboard are the latest, Win8 compatible version.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics. Let us know the results and we can move on from there.
