Win 8.1 BSOD during general usage (BT driver issue?)

Hi,

I've been consistently getting random BSODs with driver power state errors recently when using my laptop. This occurs during general use (browsing web, typing word doc, etc) and I've noticed that my BT mouse will usually stop working before it occurs. Attached is the SF diagnostic files. Any help or suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

Thank you in advance!

Hi.

The issue is very likely your Entech driver - especially if it is for a device that connects via USB.

Code:
1: kd> lmvm TVicPort64
start end module name
fffff800`035f1000 fffff800`035f8000 TVicPort64 (deferred)
    Image path: \??\C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\TVicPort64.sys
    Image name: TVicPort64.sys
    Timestamp: Wed Mar 30 05:12:54 2005 (424A6D96)
    CheckSum: 00007AD0
    ImageSize: 00007000
    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4

So uninstall it by removing all Entech software and hardware from the system.

If you need to, then also remove Saitek software/hardware.

Code:
_hid_0738_1710 _hid_0738_1710.sys Tue Apr 16 13:11:20 2013 (516D8638)

Update Realtek card reader driver from Realtek's site:

Code:
RtsUVStor RtsUVStor.sys Fri Jun 15 01:43:06 2012 (4FDACB6A)

I would also recommend to uninstall AVG normally, then use the removal too as well. Set Windows Defender and Windows Firewall to Automatic and start them too.

Enjoy.

Thank you for the suggestions! I will remove all Entech and Saitek software/hardware. I don't have AVG, did you mean Avira antivirus?

Thanks again

Yes. Their drivers are very similar in name to AVG and sometimes I do that, heh. (avgntflt.sys)

Um, but yes, concentrate on whatever is USB stuff, first.

You're welcome.

Unfortunately, I have just experienced the same driver power state failure BSOD again. Attached is a new zip file from the SF diagnostic tool. Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You didn't remove Saitek software/hardware yet - and I'm guessing that is to USB hardware that I have mentioned.

Realtek card reader was not updated either:

RtsUVStor RtsUVStor.sys Fri Jun 15 01:43:06 2012 (4FDACB6A)

There is an entry in your msinfo32 that we will look at if there is an issue still, once you actually do the above.

The single crash dump included is the same one we looked over already. If a new crash happens, then check C:\Windows\Minidump to see if it made a new file and feel free to attach it, or run the tool again, to attach it.

Just a little fyi: Operating systems do not crash computers. Your software that you installed to it or faulty hardware does.
