BSOD on 8.1, random

Hi guys,

Hopefully you can help with this BSOD i've experienced. It's happened twice, and I'm pretty sure both are related to my ethernet driver. The second crash, the cause on the screen said L1C63x64.sys (I'm pretty sure) just like the first crash, but BlueScreenView is showing hal.dll to be the cause for some reason. Both occurred while I was browsing the web, not doing any intensive tasks at all.

Anyway, I don't think it's just as simple as a ethernet driver, which is why I'm hoping for advice. The thing is, I've had 8.1 installed since around November and never had this issue. Hopefully my logs show some other cause because I have not changed my ethernet driver. It's the same driver I initially installed, and the latest one available from Gigabyte. I did try reinstalling it and thought that fixed it, but then tonight had another BSOD.

Also, perhaps this is relevant, but my 3570k is overclocked to 4.4ghz, but I checked for stability and haven't had any issues. I run BOINC folding overnight with no issues, and the BSODs happened when the CPU was idle.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

This is all that my eyes allow me to see. You know what to do.

Should also uninstall Gigabyte EasyTune, Coretemp, Rivatuner (drivers to all of these are ancient on your system. You don't want that.)

Update PowerISO to newest.

I suggest MSI Afterburner or ASUS GPU Tweak instead.

Thanks for your reply.
I need EasyTune to control fan speeds, and Coretemp is for monitoring cpu temps. You think those can be the cause? Do my logs say anything useful? I'll uninstall Rivatuner and updated PowerISO. I do have MSI Afterburner already.
