Semi Random BSOD, PFN LIST CORRUPT & Others

Hi, my computer had been troubling me for a while and so to eliminate possible variables I got new hard drivers and reinstalled Windows fresh.

However to my surprise the BSOD's seemed to have actually gotten worse, to at least once to several times per day.

I went with option 2 from the posting instructions as option 1 didn't put the files anywhere that I could see.

Video card drivers are up to date, chipset drivers are up to date using Windows 7 drivers as for some weird reason ASUS has not deemed my current modern motherboard (ASUS P7P55D-E LX P55) worthy of up to date drivers for.

I say 'semi random' as it does seem to happen a lot when I'm doing browser-y tasks but it has happened plenty of times on other occassions.

I ran memtest for an hour and no errors were detected.

Let me know if other information is required.

Hi,

Update or uninstall (use different hardware instead, if there is not a 2012 driver or newer):

Lycosa Lycosa.sys Fri Jan 18 03:51:42 2008 (4790689E)

Update ATK Package from ASUS website for your model under Downloads/Utilities section. Uninstall your version first:

ASACPI ASACPI.sys Thu Nov 01 21:54:34 2012 (509327DA)

If any crashes persist after fully following all of the above, please attach a screenshot of CPU-Z first tab, one of Memory tab, and one for each stick of RAM of the SPD tab. Also then, new crash dumps too.

What is the ATK package? This isn't a laptop and only laptop drivers are brought up when I search it.

I called ASUS, it seems for my motherboard there's absolutely zero support for windows 8, so I'm thinking the better solution is just to revert back.

Reverting is not necessary if you follow instructions, but then again Win 7 is much better IMHO, so cool.

Well, I did what you said for what turned out to be my Razor keyboard (I don't think I ever updated those drivers so that may have been the cause of something or other) but how do I " Update ATK Package "? the closest thing I found went Nope when I tried to install it.

Physically remove the slower OCZ module from the machine. Actually complete precisely other advice above without diversion.

Enjoy.

So I appear to have been slightly confused, turns out I have four sticks of ram at 2 GB each, one kingston and 3 OCZ, since taking out one stick of OCZ I assumed didn't make sense in that context I took out the two sticks (the 1 kingston and the one OCZ paired with it) that I had put up screenshots for.

I don't know yet if this will be more stable, but to make sure I have correct drivers I did decide to revert to windows 7 to be cautious and eliminate possible variables.

Does this seem okay? For completeness here's the two other sticks:

Not sure why you bothered with installing Windows 7 (unless you simply want it more).

If there was any driver issue, I would have told you.

Concept is simple. Don't mix RAM type with other RAM type and you're good to go, so enjoy.

Some motherboards and chipsets do not demand even number of sticks. Read your manual. Maybe you really can use all 3, but that is doubtful. Worth a check.

In any case, 4 GB is still well more than rockin' out. More than the "average" internet site would make you believe it is, if you get what I mean. It's good.

Some more bluescreens, though they have been thankfully significantly rarer.

Happened during my attempt to install Visual Studios 2012 Ultimate.

Error code 1a (I didn't get an actual blue screen for some reason even though its set to give me one) the both times, though a third time my computer was in the middle of booting when it just decided to reboot again.

Lycosa is my Razor keyboard, it has the latest drivers, androidusb was my phone that was plugged in via the usb cable, its unplugged now.

Rt64win7 I'm guessing was my install of Visual Studio?

The rest I don't recognize.

e: Apparently dtsoftbus is daemontools, I've cleaned by startup a bit so it and anything else non-essential will run when windows boots.

Another one, my phone was plugged in so I have my suspicions. I was also installing LISP interpreter software though.

Error code 4e.
