    Computer crashes randomly

Hi there! I've got a problem that has been driving me crazy for the last couple of days. I have tried everything I can think of but it has not gotten any better. My computer is a Asus notebook, model N56JR and was working as it should up until one week ago. The crashes mainly happen when I play games but the temperatures seems to be fine and I have updated several different drivers. At first I was getting blue screens with the error message IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL but now, after updating drivers, all that's happening is that it just reboots, not creating any dump files. Any help would be much appreciated and if there's more information required I'll be happy to provide it!

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hey,

No crash dumps are included. That's probably because you used Ccleaner or Windows Disk Cleanup Utility.

Update from ASUS Downloads/Utilities for your mode. If Windows 8 doesn't have the ATK package, look to Windows 7 insteadl:

    ASMMAP64 ASMMAP64 Kernel 2009-07-02 02:13:26
ATKWMIACPIIO ATKWMIACPI Driver Kernel 2011-09-06 18:44:52

    Uninstall Hardware Sensors Monitor:

    Hmonitor45 Hmonitor45 Kernel 2008-07-26 06:29:37

    Uninstall Revo:

Revoflt Revoflt File System 2009-12-30 01:19:49

Hi there! The dumps disappeared when I upgraded to Windows 8.1 unfortunately. I will try these things and come back here with results! Thanks a lot for your help, it's greatly appreciated!

I've done the things you told me to. I updated to the latest ATK Package I could find and I uninstalled Revo and Hmonitor but my notebook keeps crashing, still without providing me with any dump files. I attached a new zip for you if you'd like to take a look again. Thanks!

Ok, we will probably figure it out now. There are some funky things.

    1) Uninstall Easus. For sure, the drivers are not good for Windows 8:

    epmntdrv epmntdrv Kernel 2008-08-04 22:35:44
    EuGdiDrv EuGdiDrv Kernel 2009-09-15 00:12:37

    2) This driver from above did not get updated:

    ASMMAP64 ASMMAP64 Kernel 2009-07-02 02:13:26

So I suggest you do #1 above, then nothing else besides test.

If necessary then, open Regedit and find the subkey for ASMMAP64.sys (you will see a reference to it in the correct subkey). Change its Start value to 4, then close Regedit and reboot.

    Subkey will be under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\

    Test like this.

Just for information, it will probably be at 3 before you edit it. You can put it back to 3 anytime if you would like to test with it enabled, for whatever reason.

Which driver's did you update ? If you did any video driver's, did you uninstall the old one's first ? If no, that may be your problem.

Alright so first I uninstalled that software and tested. Still crashed...

The driver that didn't update didn't update with any of the different versions from ASUS that I tested for some strange reason.

I tested changing the value to 4 (was 2 from the start) but still crashed. This is driving me nuts! My i7 4700HQ is running on 75 degree Celsius average while I play. This time when it crashed I got a blue screen but it still didn't create a dump file for me to upload...

    Thanks again!

EDIT: Yes I did uninstall my previous drivers before I installed the new one. I also used the clean install option in the installer.

EDIT2: Reinstalled nvidia drivers and wifi drivers. Still crashing. This time I got a dump file out if it though which I will attach to this post. I hope it helps!

Nothing stands out any longer as a potential culprit as far as software is concerned.

So let's look at RAM. Please attach a screenshot of CPU-Z's 1st tab, one of the Memory tab, and one each for each stick or RAM of the SPD tab.

Your issues are right there in the first screenshot. Your CPU is default 2.4 GHz and it is running at 3.3 GHz.
