I was having this issue before and then it got to the point that i was unable to get into the OS so i reloaded windows on a new HDD and every so often i get a BSOD.

at the moment one stick of 4gb RAM (going to have 2 sticks)
1 TB drive

(it is also at the moment running without a product key because the customer didnt bring in the one they used for the installation)

Thanks.

Ok, some logic to try to be most helpful here.

2 things.

1) You said soon to be 2 sticks of RAM. Ok, no, for the moment. Remove original stick and test with only new stick to see how it goes.

2) See if the RAM slot is correct one to use, when only using 1 stick.

If machine is stable, then do your thing with 2 sticks.

If not stable, then the motherboard could have issues, since the likelihood of original RAM and new RAM both being defective is very low.

If new stick of RAM is different than old, that in itself is going to be an issue (when trying to use together). One thing at a time...the above will get the correct path started to figuring it all out.
