Random Freezes, happens VERY frequently, error 0xa0000001

Alright, let me start by describing what has been happening, and it's very strange, I have never encountered this kind of issue before until recently.

Mind you, this happens when I do just about ANYTHING, ANYTHING...so for example (here lately) I will open up Chrome or Internet Explorer and I'll start browsing the web, forums, youtube, etc...and randomly the best way I can put this is...Everything will stop responding, you wont be-able to navigate through links, cannot open new tabs, cannot close tabs, if I am on youtube the video and sound stops. If I minimize the internet browser everything else I have open such as notepad, skype, paint, a game they will stop responding as well. Task Manager isn't able to be accessed, start menu isn't able to be accessed, opening anything on the desktop such as folders or even the recycle bin will open but they then freeze (And windows pops up a message asking if you'd like to "End the Process" and that also freezes) The whole system become unusable for a few minutes and then everything is back to normal again.

Then today I realized something else along with this, maybe it can help pinpoint what is wrong. I was attempting to burn a DVD eariler today, and this random "freeze" happened during it, during the burning process, of course it stopped responding and then the DVD drive gave me a horrible error - 0xC0AA0301
So what ever this random freezing is, it causes the whole system to literally stop responding, and it's strange.

The blue screen occurred today, when I started a game, windows immediately blue-screened on me.

    Hey,

Update bios to newest, set Optimized Defaults in it, then boot to Windows. Please then post a screenshot of CPU-Z's 1st tab, one of Memory tab and one each for each stick of RAM you have of the SPD tab.

Install Intel proprietary storage driver and also latest INF Update chipset driver package from AMD:

    Code:

    Run Ccleaner.

    Use this: AdobeClearFlash

The game you tried to play is beta. Maybe the crash was caused by it.

Install latest USB 3.0 driver from motherboard site.

    Test.

If crash, remove Razer from the machine physically and uninstall software. Use something generic to replace it, to test.

Update anything and everything connected to USB.

Done that, and everything connected to USB (Mouse, Printer, and Speakers) are all updated. I am still experiencing the random freezing though, just from simply browsing the web like this site for example, or even during installing and extracting the files you told me to get.

    Freezes can be bsod-related.

    Freezes could not be bsod-related.

If no bsods, step in the right direction either way. Then it is only a case of tweaking things like software and maybe your habits as in specific software you're using.

For instance, if you use Chrome, I recommend to forget it and use Firefox.

I would double, even triple check that the storage driver is updated to the AMD driver, not Microsoft-supplied.

Use Ccleaner to clean junk files. Run good defragmenting on drives.

I would disable Windows Search service, unless you use search very often. Disabling does not disable your searches still, however.

What are the results of the machine without Razer attached and software removed?

Still having the same issue, even with Firefox. I'll be browsing, and all of a sudden it stops responding, then the whole system stops responding for a few minutes. It isnt just on the internet either...I could just be browsing through files in a folder, and everything will stop responding. The issue still remains

Also, how exactly would I check if the storage driver's are updated? You point out in a few posts above installing "Install Intel proprietary storage driver" but this is an AMD system, so I was a bit confused there.

Yes, about AMD/Intel thing....I wrote Intel initially in error and edited to AMD about 10-15 minutes later when I reviewed my post.

You will see in the Device Manager for your SATA controller - when checking the driver, it should be something like amdxsata.sys or very similar, instead of pciide.sys.

Now that I think about it, if your machine has AHCI abilities in the bios, do this procedure:

Review the entire thread if unsure, or ask me whatever.

Well, I can say (For the moment, past 5+ Hours) that the issue seems to be resolved. What the culprit was?

    My SSD, Crucial's M4.
Apparently it has major firmware issues, and for example when it hits 5000 hours of uptime apparently, it goes into a loop, and well I leave my computers on 24/7, just how I do things. And that SSD has been on 24/7 for years, apparently it's life finally went belly up, so I swapped to a traditional drive, and what do you know, every issue I had described is gone.

I came to the conclusion because I glanced down at my tower and noticed there was no HD activity during said freezes, so I decided to check it. =P

Drive is a factor based on what you said, but even so, it's probably still ok.

Make sure you run AHCI for SSD drives and that trim command is enabled in Windows.

It prolongs its life and also it can be thought of as an optimization routine, in simplest terms.
