BSOD playing World Of Warcraft, DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

Hey guys! First time posting here. ^.^

Anyway, I've had the BSOD for about a month now and it started randomly. I've noticed it usually happens when I'm playing World of Warcraft. I've played other games and it doesn't happen. But then again, WoW is pretty much the only game I play for more than 3 hours at a time, so I don't know if it would happen in other games because I don't play them as frequently.

I'm running Windows 8.1 on an Alienware 14 laptop. My graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M

I've attached a zip with all the files needed as instructed by the sticky post.

Please help! I tried calling Alienware and they suggested I re-install Windows. I really don't want to do that so any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Hey,

Rename this driver to .bak:

Code:
0: kd> lmvm MO4Driver
start end module name
fffff800`049a1000 fffff800`049ae000 MO4Driver (deferred)
    Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\drivers\MO4Driver.sys
    Image name: MO4Driver.sys
    Timestamp: Fri Jul 15 00:06:02 2011 (4E1FBCAA)
    CheckSum: 000087C5

    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4

Open Regedit. Find the subkey for that driver at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services

Right click on it and choose export and save it. Then right click and delete it.

Reboot.

Let me know how it gets on after.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm currently trying to find the subkey for the driver but I can't seem to find it. Is it inside a folder under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services ? There are so many >.>

Yes, when you find the right folder (subkey), you will see a reference to the MO4Driver.sys inside. That (folder - subkey) would be the correct one to save as shown above and then delete, reboot.

OK, I found it. I noticed it's related to my WoW MMO Mouse. Does this mean I can no longer use it? Thanks for everything!

Tell you what...play the game as much as possible to determine if it is now stable.

Get back to me with results and then we will look into that specifically.

You're welcome.

Hello, I'm back with results.

I was playing WoW a couple of minutes ago and got the BSOD again. DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

I did what you said but apparently it didn't fix it. I'm using a Razer Naga Epic instead of my WoW mouse if that helps.

Attached are my files.

Please help! This is very frustrating. :(

No new crash dumps included at all, so not much to say besides Razer doesn't have an excellent track record at all. I would test with generic.

Wait, you can't see my files attached? I'll try reuploading... Thanks! Let me know if you can see them. :)

EDIT: I've also noticed this usually happens when I'm multitasking. I.E. playing WoW and surfing the net..

Use Avira removal tool to clean up old remnants of your prior install of it.

How has testing been going without Razer or MMO mouse?

OK, I did what you said. How can I tell if all the files were deleted? I couldn't figure out how Avira worked so I used Revo instead. Hope that's ok. So, is there anywhere I can look to check that indeed everything was deleted? I don't have a generic mouse at the moment, but I will buy one tomorrow and test. Thank you for everything!

Ya, I really think that having agent.exe off the system is what was needed.

Check Program Files and Program Files (x86) to make sure you got rid of it. Also do a system scan for it, just for the heck of it.

I found several agent.exe files in my C://Program Data/Battle.net/Agent folders. Do I have to delete all of them? Won't that mess up my game? >.> Other than those, there are no other agent.exe files in my PC.

No, don't delete anything. Just attach any new crash dumps if any happen.

What you should do though, is monitor temperature of the video adapter. It could be that it is getting too hot when playing.

Update the machine's bios for good measure.

For more good measure, install this to update this:

RtsPStor RtsPStor.sys Wed Dec 12 21:44:23 2012 (50C94107)

And install this to update this:

RTKVHD64 RTKVHD64.sys Wed Apr 03 07:12:27 2013 (515C0E9B)

And finally for now: Do this.
