    Use removal tool for Avast.

    Take any discs out of the optical drive for now.

    Make sure other drivers have been updated.

    Gimme a sec. I'm checking on the driver for ya. I'll edit soon.

    Ya ok, nice.

    Extract the Synaptics download to any folder on the machine.

    Open Device Manager. Right click on Synaptics, choose Update Driver Software, browse my computer, let me pick, have disk, browse...

    then double click on WinWDF\x64\SynPD.inf

    and continue with the install until done.

    Okay when trying that I got.

    Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.

    Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad

    The third-party INF does not contain digital signature information.

    If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for the driver software.
