Device Manager crashes when "Scan for hardware change"

    Hi all,

My Win8.1 box keeps crashing in device manager upon any "refresh." For example, scanning for hardware changes, installing/uninstalling something, or updating anything. I've gone through and updated any drivers that I saw were old, but no joy. Any assistance would be appreciated! Uploading the SF Diag output as well.

    Thanks...

Uninstalled LogMeIn and rebooted. No joy; still crashes.

Ok. Run the tool again, then post please. There were no crash dumps included last time.

Update all the stuff from ASUS in Downloads/Utilities section. Latest probably in Windows 7 downloads.

Uploaded a new zip file. Nothing left to update from ASUS. Installed everything but the Intel VGA drivers (not used) earlier today.

The system is not crashing, a.k.a. experiencing bsods.

In addition, you should probably run this command from an elevated prompt:

    sfc /scannow

In any case, see how DM behaves in Safe Mode.

Yea, not a system crash. It's just device manager and the error logs point nowhere:

    -From the eventapp.txt file-
    Faulting package full name: (blank)

sfc reports no integrity issues and safe mode is no different. Quite frustrating this one...

Post a crash dump (or run the tool again) after doing this:

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...(v=vs.85).aspx

I'm sure I'll find at least one or two things that will make the system better, regardless.
