BSOD System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled (bwcW8x64.sys)

As my title says, I just got a BSOD. It happened while i was in a Skype call, listening to music, and about to go into match of League of Legends.

I've actually been getting quite a few of BSOD lately. The one I got before this one was Kernel_Security_Check_Failure. Which I also got today.

I only seem to get BSOD when I have a sound card installed into my computer. I even bought a new sound card in hope to maybe fix this problem but I still get it. I've tried a few things too, I've even replaced my ram. I actually thought it was my AMD motherboard at first so I completly replaced my mother and cpu to a intel cpu and motherboard and still i get BSOD. The only thing I have not changed out has been my 2 Graphics cards and my SSD. But I didn't start getting BSOD till i either got my SSD or got more ram, I can't remember which. But like I said, I've already completely changed out my ram.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Now that I think about it, I'm almost certain I didn't start getting any BSOD until I got my SSD put in. Which when i installed it I had to use the Windows 8 Disk that I ordered when I did the online upgrade from windows 7 to windows 8. IDk if the disk might be the cause or if it is the SSD. But I have replaced numerous parts in my pc since then, trying to resolve the BSOD issue.

Nice name, heh. (I just got done playing Halo multiplayer. When I joined, we were losing 2-7. We won 10-9!)

Remove AVG. Use tool from them to remove too, after.

Set Windows Firewall and Windows Defender services to Automatic and start them too.

Then do this: MSI USA

Ive used AVG for yeara and never had any problems out of it. And I am currently running memtest86 to see if I have any memory problems. I will remove avg tomorrow. But first. Let's say I already did. What other possibilities could it be?

AVG crashes machines the worst out of all software ever created. They have gotten better lately but that is their track record. It is not an exaggeration either. Maybe Norton competes.

See my edit about about the MSI site.

I don't understand why it would start now. Unless. When I had re install everything onto my new ssd, I did get the next years version of avg so that could be a issue. But before on my hdd I had avg and never bsod once

Every machine is different. You can't compare what works on one to another, and then say "Good on one machine = always good everywhere."

See MSI link I put. :)

If you need help with another machine, make a new thread and we will fix that one too.

If you follow what the MSI link shows for the machine we are looking at now, that too will be well.

Alright I will do that when memtest is done.

But is it a possibility that my ssd could be causing the bsod?

No. Nothing else is possible then what is on the MSI link.

If you read it, they are straight out telling you they know there is a problem and then they proceed to tell you how to fix it (workaround) until they (Atheros) can fix the driver.

Memtest completely unnecessary here.

They even mention Skype, just like you did.

Okay, avg removed and killer network shutoff. What about the kernel bsod? Doesn't that point to either a ram or driver issue?

If you have any further problems, post a new crash dump of it. Unless the machine is altered in some negative way in the future, there will be no more bsods.
