    Multiple BSOD erros. Random times.

Ive been getting multiple BSODs. I really need help with this. I have a lot of school work to do all the time and it'll just randomly BSOD out of the blue. Its getting really frustrating. Any help would be appreciated greatly appreciated. Ive run multiple mem tests and hard drive tests with nothing to report.

    Networking.

Highly advise to remove AVG with the tool they offer to do so, then set Windows Firewall and Windows Defender to Auto and start them too.

Uninstall or update all Gigabyte software. This driver sorely needs an update:

    Code:
    7: kd> lmvm gdrv
    start end module name
    fffff880`1c341000 fffff880`1c34a000 gdrv (deferred)
        Image path: \??\C:\Windows\gdrv.sys
        Image name: gdrv.sys
        Timestamp: Thu Mar 12 23:22:29 2009 (49B9D175)

Likely to Energy Saver, Easy Tune or similar.

    Delete this driver:

    Code:
    7: kd> lmvm ElgatoGC658
    start end module name
    fffff880`0741f000 fffff880`0742e000 ElgatoGC658 (deferred)

Then find (you might have to look at little if it's named differently there) the key for it at the following location and delete it, in Regedit:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services

Do the same for this driver; delete + regedit key delete:

    Code:
    kd> lmvm PxHlpa64
    start end module name

    Update SuperAntiSpyware to latest.

For good measure, update your Realtek lan driver from Gigabyte's website too, or from here.

    Code:
    7: kd> lmvm Rt630x64
    start end module name

        Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
And finally, update wireless driver from here or manufacturer's page:

    Code:
    0: kd> lmvm netr28x
    start end module name
    fffff880`04640000 fffff880`047ee000 netr28x (deferred)
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\netr28x.sys

        Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
When you are all done with everything, you will find the crashes have stopped but your CD/DVD drive is no longer working. We will easily fix that next. Let me know when you're ready.

    Some things not done yet.

In latest crash dump, each of these 3 likely problem-causing variables still exist:

    ElgatoGC658 ElgatoGC658.sys Wed Nov 09 02:39:12 2011 (4EBA2E20)
    PxHlpa64 PxHlpa64.sys Tue Jun 23 19:16:35 2009 (4A416253)
    gdrv gdrv.sys Thu Mar 12 23:22:29 2009 (49B9D175)

    Good job updating others.

Please explain any issues you might be running into with removing or updating. I'll see what I can do for ya then, based on your response.

    You're welcome.

Okay, so I think I got ElgatoGC658.sys and PxHlpa64.sys both not showing up in my folders nor Regedit. As for gdrv.sys I am unable to find an update for it after extensive searching. Any ideas?

    Yes about ideas.

The single one I have at the moment is to ask these questions.

    1) Is your DVD/CD drive working? (I suspect no, but that's fine!)

    2) Any crashes now? (We will wait to see - if so - then we will deal with gdrv.sys.)

No my DVD/CD drive is not working. Spinned but nothing came up.

And no crashes yet but the crashes are usually spread apart. Ill let you know if I have another one.

Excellent. Here's how to fix the DVD drive. Let me know if anything is not understood. It's much more simple than it appears at first glance. (it's instructions for 7 - you just have to adapt it for 8 - like use Start screen instead of Start menu etc...)

    1. Click Start
, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    3. If you see UpperFilters in the pane on the right side, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
    4. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry.
    5. If you see LowerFilters in the pane on the right side, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
    6. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry.
    7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

Edit: Never mind, Misunderstood the statement. Found lowerfilters. Doing the steps now.
