That seemed to sort out the problem of the BSoD at last, thanks very much for your help!

However, as you probably guessed, I still have no display on my laptop screen - there's a code 19 error (damaged configuration information in the registry) by the display adapter in Device Manager and it won't allow me to connect to another screen through WinKey&p. Next step?

You've installed the latest beta video driver already, I am guessing? (Probably just the wrong driver, if so. Have a link to what you installed?)

    You're welcome.

Let's see the msinfo while I ponder it over a bit.

To post it, please type msinfo32 in the start menu, press Enter. File | Save on the opened screen. Zip or rar the saved file then attach it here.

It seems from the logs I've attached that the previous version is still there, even after deleting the driver files manually and running Driver Fusion successfully (It did say that there were some files that needed Premium to get rid of, but I could not figure out a list of these files in order to delete them manually?).

Version 13 is the one supposedly installed successfully by the ATI installer, according to System Information, version 8 is still there somehow!

This is the link to the April 2013 beta I tried to install.

You should have a folder C:\AMD with the new driver files in it, from the beta.

Right now in normal mode, uninstall the video driver software normally, using the uninstall programs list.

    Boot to safe mode.

Open Device Manager. Right click on the ATI (or "Standard" entry in Display Adapters section.)

Choose Update Driver Software. Browse my computer. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse.

    Navigate to C:\AMD\AMD_Catalyst_13.4_Legacy_Beta_Vista_Win7_Win8\Packages\Drivers\Display\W8_INF\

Double click on CL156445.inf then click OK (if needed) and continue installing until done.

Reboot to normal mode and keep your fingers crossed.

You should uninstall Driver Detective at anytime, too.

Bad news, back to the same BSoDs (antimpag.sys), shall I fetch the dump file?

Sure, let's see how everything looks now, driver-wise.

In normal mode, safe mode, or safe mode + networking, update this wireless driver from Intel:

    Code:
    1: kd> lmvm NETw5v32
    start end module name
    98a1b000 98e2e000 NETw5v32 (deferred)
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\NETw5v32.sys
        Image name: NETw5v32.sys
        Timestamp: Fri May 29 01:41:24 2009 (4A1F7584)
        CheckSum: 00416270
        ImageSize: 00413000
        Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
    Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software — Intel® PROSet/ Wireless Software Downloads

Intel's site is completely messed for drivers.

If those don't work out, try this: Download Intel PRO/Wireless and WiFi Link Drivers 16.1.5 Win7 32-bit - FileHippo.com

As you can see, the wireless is sharing the same IRQ with the video:

    Code:
IRQ 5 ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series
    IRQ 5 Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
The wireless driver you have now is old, and is likely bringing down the video with it.

For some reason it will only update from a 2009 version to a 2010 version, and no further with every link I use, and I still get a BSoD with the 2010 version unfortunately... any ideas?

Temporarily disable the wireless in the Device Manager, then reboot.

See if video works well like that.
