hi

my windows will load up to the tile icons then go to blue screen and load up the tiles again(all tiles are blank)and keep looping.
ive had the same error code and my problems started christmas morning, about the same time as the original post.
ive found the system had updated on midnight of the 25th.
i had the night before transferred a lot of photos to my hard drive but no where near the capacity of the drive.

i have the error code of 0xc0000001 \windows\system32\winload.efi

ive tried in cmd
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuild

if i type bcdedit /enum /v i get

windows boot manager
identifier 9dea862c-5cdd-4e70-acc1-f32b344d4795
device partition=\device\harddiskvolume 3
path \efi\microsoft\boot\bootmgfw.efi

windows boot loader

id d28cbc4c-0ae6-11e2-a149-9819565557f4
device partition=c:
path \windows\system32\winload.efi

ive tried recovery and it reinstalled windows and did the same thing.

any ideas.
many thanks andy

Just curious about how you were able to run the tool to collect logs if you're not able to get into Windows. (Does Safe Mode successfully boot well for you?)

In the archive you posted, there are no minidumps present, the other useful logs are 0 kb and the msinfo32 is corrupted.

If you can do it again somehow like you did before, perhaps give it another go and post it.

I can tell you straight away that Trusteer Rapport is a well known culprit on machines. It could be any number of things, but this one tops your list.

You have something nasty (I don't mean malware, but could be) hooking into Explorer. If this Windows install is ever saved, the first thing that should be done is to fix that. One thing at a time.

thank you for the input

I can let it try to boot and every now and again I can run task manager(most of the time this just flicks on and off with the windows crashing) I can then go to start new task, from there open up control panel ect. ive not been able to get online. but I have managed to save all my work files and photos.

ive tried system restore and this tries but fails.

I will run the diagnostics again

many thanks
andy

Great. See if you can uninstall Trusteer Rapport normally, while you're at it. Try using Safe Mode to do it, if necessary.

Eightforums.com here has great tutorials about how to access Safe Mode on Windows 8, if needed.
