So yeah, i´m "new" here. Actually been using Seven forums for a while. Friend of mine been having a lot of bluescreens lately and unfortunately i have been unable pinpoint what the problem is so i´m asking your help and assistance.

There have been several different bluescreen which come up while gaming and also when idling sometimes.

Here´s some BSODs that have come up so far.

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
clock_watchdog_timeout
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (win32)

Maybe more, those are the ones i´m aware of.

System specs:

Windows 8 x64 (6.2, build 9200)
ASUS P8Z77-V LK
1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm
Samsung SSD Basic 840-Series 120GB
Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4 GHz (Ivy Bridge)
Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) CL9 1600Mhz VENGEANCE LP Red
XFX Radeon HD7970 3072MB Dual Fan GHz-edition (XT2)
XFX Pro Series 750W 80+ Bronze

Furmark: We ran it on window 15mins, max temps were 71c
Prime didn´t crash pc either.

Temps are usually while gaming between 55-70c.

Games tend to crash a lot.(Bordelands 2, Tera eu, etc etc...)
Installing newest drivers only made things worse so we had to install 13.9 version of gpu drivers.

Gonna upload the zip file asap!

Ps. SFC /SCANNOW found some errors but couldn´t fix them.

Hey there. I'm new too, so welcome to you and myself too I suppose haha! :)

Tsk, tsk. I am no fan of Norton/Symantec. From my vast experience, I want to advise to remove that with the tool from them, then set Windows Firewall and Windows Defender services to Automatic and start them too, with services.msc. This is just good advice and not gospel. The decision is not mine to make!

If you want a different 3rd party security instead, I say better than what you already have, for various reasons.

There is a storage issue. Norton loves to do things of this nature.

But alas, we shall proceed.

Install latest Java. Visit Intel.com. Let it scan and install the drivers it finds for you:

Intel® Driver Update Utility

Hopefully it has the storage driver updates shown and ready to go.

If not, let me know and we will be right on it doing something else about it.

Give Logitech.com a visit and download/install drivers for any devices the machine may have from them, too. (Especially gamepad or similar.)

Best of luck with it all.

I tried to re-install windows 8 but i still have thse problems. And i have the drivers for Logitech, and latest Amd drivers, and I have the latest Java update

And once again. Im not the one who posted it here, i just helped myself by sending my files to my friend who posted it here.

I hear ya. I did not specifically blame Norton, however. Alluded? Perhaps.

You didn't mention the most important thing: Did you update the storage drivers from Intel yet, as shown?

How did that go? Well?

We need to update this Intel Storage driver.

The easiest way for now is to install the Intel drivers from the SATA section of downloads, from here:

As you can see in my previous post, the driver iaStor.sys has a modified date of 2/1/2012.

I just downloaded the archive for the new driver from ASUS, and that has a modified date of 8/1/2013.

It simply has not yet been installed well. Let me know if help is needed doing that.

I think successful installation will even change the driver name to iaStorA.sys.

If it helps you out at all, download and extract my attachment.

Open Device Manager.

Right click on the Intel SATA storage entry, choose Update driver software. Browse my computer. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse. Now navigate to the folder where you extracted my attachment. Double click on iaStorAC.inf (if the machine is setup currently as RAID) -OR- iaAHCIC.inf (if it is currently set up as AHCI). Continue installing until done. Reboot.
