Sysytem_Thread_Exception BSOD

Hey Eightforums,

I recently got into streaming and bought a new capture device. Since installing it's software my computer has started BSODing. After uninstalling, the BSODing has continued. Can't identify the source of the crash. Thought it might have been some Malware, so I did a reformat of my mushkin SSD and reinstall windows 8.1. Still no fix. Thanks for your time and help.

Happy New Year!

Edit 1: After doing some tests, my computer only seems to BSOD when I am using the capture device (AverMedia ExtremeCap U 3). Normal usage, or using OBS with PC based games did not result in the usually BSOD within 10 minutes of play.

Not sure how I should proceed. I'll try reinstalling the drivers for the capture device, unplugging-replugging and test it again.

Edit 2: After letting my computer run a native PC game and stream it for an hour, no BSOD. Still have yet to test capture device again.

Edit 3: I can confirm that when I am using OBS or the AverMedia Recentral capture software, my computer BSOD's. Not sure why. This was not happening until this morning. I then did the fresh install and upgraded to Windows 8.1 I'll post another crash file as they come available. I ended up getting two BSODs, both APC_INDEX_MISMATCH errors.

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay in responding. There just aren't that many people who do BSOD analysis, so at times we get a bit overwhelmed!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized. This may be an automatic overclock and it's within the specs of the i5 processor. If that's the case, there's nothing to worry about.
Processor may be overclocked!

I've got several theories here:
1) the drivers are not Win8.1 compatible (They do not offer Win8.1 drivers here: Download | AVerMedia )
2) the device itself is broken
3) there are problems that have been seen with USB sound devices - but I haven't seen any recently
4) Intel AMT may be messing things up (this is a generic problem that I mention whenever I see HECI.64.sys that dates from 2012.

Possible solutions:
- driver issues/compatibility - contact AverMedia or visit their forums to see if others are experiencing these same issues/see if AverMedia has come out with a Win8.1 compatible driver.
- hardware broken - try another device (if possible)
- USB sound issues - try other USB ports, particularly try those in the back of the system, and try the USB 2 and the USB 3 ports
- Do the following to update the Intel AMT/Management Engine:

Finally, Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web.
