random BSoD bad_pool_caller on Windows 8.1

I'm sure you're all tired of this common problem but I've looked around the forum and realized it's not a common solution for everyone so hopefully some of you can help me to find mine. Any help is highly appreciated! It mainly happens after coming back from screensaver or sleep mode, but not always. It's pretty random.

Running Windows 8.1 on a Toshiba P75-A7200
Intel i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz, 8GB RAM

Thank you.

Hi

Whether intentional or non intentional, your system seems to be running two antivirus programs at the same time. Kaspersky and Norton Internet security suits.

IDSvia64.sys Thu Oct 17 03:40:26 2013 (525F0ED2)
Norton Internet Security
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=IDSvia64.sys

kl1.sys Fri Oct 18 14:48:22 2013 (5260FCDE)
Kaspersky Unified Driver
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=kl1.sys

All the crashes happened in you system are caused by the clash between the two. I am not sure from where you get the idea of running two AV programs parallel at the same time but i can only say, please never ever do it in any system.

Please follow the below steps.

1. Boot the system in to safe mode - http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2757-safe-mode-start-windows-8-a.html

Run Kaspersky Removal Tool from there to uninstall Kaspersky properly.

http://media.kaspersky.com/utilities/consumerutilities/kavremover.exe

2. If you choose to keep Norton as the primary AV, you don't need to any other steps. If you choose Kaspersky, please uninstall Norton from Control Panel --> Programs first (Full uninstall). Then run Norton Removal Tool to uninstall it's components properly.

Once the Norton is completely gone, download and install the latest version of Kaspersky setup from Free Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 Trial | Kaspersky Lab US . Then use your legal key to activate it.

Thank you, I will do this as soon as I get home from work. I installed Kaspersky as I have a 12 month subscription. Norton came with the laptop but I didn't think it was installed as it never runs and/or doesn't show up in taskbar. There is a 2nd Norton that came with laptop (Norton Anti-Theft) which I did install however. Perhaps that one installed the Norton Internet Security. Although whenever I accessed Anti-Theft, it didn't show anything related to Norton Internet Security. I will uninstall Kaspersky and then Norton Internet Security and then re-install Kaspersky with updated drivers as instructed. Do you recommend I uninstall Anti-Theft aswell (no subscription there, only 30-day trial).

I have uninstalled Kaspersky and all Norton products. I will update by Thursday to give it enough time to assure bad_pool_caller is no longer an issue. Thank you for your help!
