Built a new pc two days ago. Part list is Pick Parts, Build Your PC, Compare and Share - PCPartPicker
Getting error WHEA_Uncorrectable_Error. I've updated everything according to device manager. GPU driver and BIOS I installed and are up to date. Log says crash is caused by hal.dll. It happens randomly some time after I turn on the computer. It can happen in games or not in games but games seem to cause it to happen quickly. I am at default and have not overclocked anything yet. One thing I did notice is if i change the cpu voltage from it's auto of about 1.07 to a fixed 1.2 i get the BSOD just on windows startup and don't even have a chance to log in. I think this is the cpu but I want to be sure before I RMA it.

Hi

Whether intentional or non intentional, your CPU seems to be running overclocked. Three of it's cores are currently running at 4.3 Ghz. I won't wonder in why you are getting BSOD 0x124.

Please follow the below steps.

1. Uninstalling all Asus bundled software.

If you installed any Asus utilities came with the driver CD (especially AI Suit III) , please uninstall all of them. These may auto overclock the system.

2. Reset system BIOS.

How To Clear CMOS (Reset BIOS)

After resetting BIOS, load optimized defaults. Please don't change any default settings like CPU frequency or voltage. You can use "Speccy" to check the frequency of all cores from Windows.

Report how the system works.
