Last week I had an issue with a BSOD error "Invalid kernel auto boost lock release" and it was fixed by uninstalling the fan control that came with my motherboard. This week I started BSOD'ing randomly playing Battlefield 4 getting the above errors. I've gotten each one at least twice and sometimes they happen right after starting the game, sometimes they happen an hour into it. Attached is my dump file using the diagnostic tool. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    windows 8.1
Remove Norton using this procedure:
Anti-Virus Removal:
Please do the following:
- download a free anti-virus for testing purposes: Free AntiVirus If using Windows 8, enable Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall instead (after removing Norton).
- un-install the Norton from your system (you can reinstall it, if so desired, when we're done troubleshooting)
- remove any remnants of Norton using this free tool: http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080710133834EN
- IMMEDIATELY install and update the free anti-virus (if using Win8, enable Windows Defender), then check to ensure that the Windows Firewall is turned on.
- perform a full system scan to ensure that no malware has snuck onto your system while the anti-virus was malfunctioning.
- check to see if this fixes the BSOD's
NOTE: NEVER run more than 1 anti-virus, firewall, Internet Security/Security Center application at the same time.

Uninstall the AsRock Extreme Tuner (it was blamed in one of the memory dumps).

Uninstall Connectify (I have seen issues with v3 on other systems).

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.
Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure - Sysnative Forums

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install". Reboot for changes to take affect.
Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): [DEL] DuplexSecure - FAQ [/DEL] Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disk-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

Remove Western Digital software. It's drivers date from 2008 and are known to cause BSOD's.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

MBfilt64.sys Thu Jul 30 23:40:32 2009 (4A7267B0)

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web.

I removed Norton, updated the two drivers, removed connectify, and was unable to find any remaining files for Daemon Tools or ASRock Extreme Tuner or AMD Overdrive. I previously deleted ASRock tuner and Daemon Tools when I had my other BSOD issue so I don't know if there's something left causing issues or if it was from the old dump. Thank you very much for your help, if I keep getting the same error I'll post back here.

Just got the SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION BSOD again, here's the new dump. I'll update/remove the drivers listed above in the meantime. Thank you very much for your help!

edit: I just went to the drivers folder in sys32 and several drivers showing up in the SF diagnostic list aren't there (the ones likely causing problems: AODDriver2.sys, AsrAppCharger.sys, and dtsoftbus01.sys). How would I go about finding and removing them?

It's not simply a matter of removing the drivers. And they may render your system unbootable if you do just remove them.
The best way is to uninstall the program that they're associated with.

If the drivers still remain after following the instructions I gave previously, then we'll see about removing them manually.

1) Have you uninstalled Connectify as I asked?
2) Have you uninstalled the ATI drivers (and AMD OverDrive) and installed fresh copies using the instructions I provided in my first post?
3) Have you removed the Western Digital software as I asked?
4) Have you removed Daemon Tools and the sptd.sys driver using the instructions that I provided in my first post?

1/4) I reinstalled connectify and daemon tools and reuninstalled them using the above methods and now sptd is not showing up in the driver list.

2)I tried removing the AMD software and installing the drivers per instruction but it didn't update them and there is no AMD/ATI software showing up in control anymore for me to uninstall so AODD.sys is still showing up as well.

3)I removed the WD drivers and installed the newest from the site before connecting my portable hard drive but I still have the 2008 driver showing up in the list.

Please remove the WD software until the system has been stabilized.

As for the AODDriver2.sys driver, here's the next thing to try:
If AODDriver2.sys is still present and the software/device isn't present and the driver isn't needed - then please do this (thanks to jcgriff2):
Bring up elevated Admin cmd prompt -
START | type cmd.exe | RIGHT-click on cmd.exe | "Run as Administrator" | type/ paste the following -
Code:
where /r c:\ /f /t AODDrive*.* > 0 & start notepad 0
It may take a few minutes.

A Notepad will open wth the results. That will state the location of all OverDrive drivers.
Please post the results in your next post.

Then:
- create a System Restore point.
- create a System Repair disc and ensure that it works. To do this, go to Start...All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc
- un-install all ATI video stuff using Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program (this may make the next 3 steps unnecessary - if so, just continue on).

- check in services.msc to see if there is an AOD service. If there is, set it to "Disabled" for the startup type.
- then disable any startups that name AODDriver2.sys using Autoruns (free from here: Autoruns for Windows )
- rename AODDriver2.sys to AODDriver2.BAD (it's probably in C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64 )

- reboot and see if that fixes the problem(s). Check in C:\Windows\System32\drivers (or the other folder) to be sure that it stays renamed.
- install fresh video drivers using the procedure here: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure - Sysnative Forums
DO NOT install the full Catalyst Control Center package!!!

If the system is unable to boot,
boot from the System Repair Disc to the Command Prompt option.
- Rename AODDriver2.BAD to AODDriver2.sys
Code:
ren c:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64\aoddriver2.BAD c:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64\aoddriver2.sys
- Then reboot from the System Repair Disc again - this time into the System Restore option.
Reset the system to the System Restore point that you set previously.

Then we wait to see if the BSOD's return.....

Thank you so much! I was able to remove AODD finally. WDC_SAM is still showing up and I'm not seeing any WD software left so I'll leave it alone unless I get another BSOD. I really appreciate your help, each post has made my computer BSOD significantly less often!

You can try reinstalling the WD software, then uninstalling it to see if that removes the driver.
Also, it may be that the uninstaller removes the reference to the driver in the registry - so removing the driver itself may not be necessary if it doesn't load (but this is, IMO, sloppy programming).

The true test is to see if it shows up in further BSOD's - then we'll take steps to manually remove it (if necessary).
Good luck!
