Hello, I need help with a crash that occurs only during one game every few hours. I usually only play on DarkRP servers. The game freezes and no controls work. ctrl+alt+del Doesn't work either. Then, it eventually shows me the BSOD of windows 8 with DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. I have attached the dump file from the diagnostic tool as a zip. You can look at my system specs. it is all there on my profile as well as in the zip somewhere.

C: drive only has much less than 1% free space (about .4 %). Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance. Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty) In extreme circumstances (like this) it can cause BSOD's.

Screaming Bee audio drivers date from 2010. In the past these had caused BSOD's on some Windows systems. Please uninstall it to test and see if that stops the BSOD's

Logitech camera drivers date from 2008 and MUST be updated (or removed).

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

ntk_PowerDVD12_64.sys Thu May 12 08:30:24 2011 (4DCBD2E0)
Cyberlink PowerDVD driver. Often OEM installed on systems
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=ntk_PowerDVD12_64.sys

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (26 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

Thank you for the information. I will let you know if it works. I have unplugged the camera because it is so old there are no drivers for windows 7 and up. I have uninstalled screaming bee audio. I got it with a free voice changer program to run it. I have updated Power DVD 12. And I have freed up about 10 GB. I have a large HDD but a small partition. So I will open my Linux bootable live usb stick and fix that when I get the time.

I will give you results in a few hours. Thank you!

There are no memory dumps from December in the uploaded reports. Please do the following 3 things:
1)
Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

While waiting for a reply, please monitor your temps with this free utility: HWMonitor CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting
2)
Upload Dump Files:
NOTE: If using a disk cleaning utility, please stop using it while we are troubleshooting your issues.
Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump and zip up the contents of the folder. Then upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Left click on the first minidump file.
Hold down the "Shift" key and left click on the last minidump file.
Right click on the blue highlighted area and select "Send to"
Select "Compressed (zipped) folder" and note where the folder is saved.
Upload that .zip file with your next post.

If you have issues with "Access Denied" errors, try copying the files to your desktop and zipping them up from there. If it still won't let you zip them up, post back for further advice.

If you don't have anything in that folder, please check in C:\Windows for a file named MEMORY.DMP. If you find it, zip it up and upload it to a free file hosting service. Then post the link to it in your topic so that we can download it.

Also, search your entire hard drive for files ending in .dmp, .mdmp, and .hdmp. Zip up any that you find and upload them with your next post.

Then, follow the directions here to set your system for Minidumps (much smaller than the MEMORY.DMP file): Set MiniDumpMore info on dump file options here: Overview of memory dump file options for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2
3) Please run these hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
