I upgraded to Windows 8.1 last week and that itself actually had some problems and wasn't a smooth upgrade at all. After several restarts and Windows searching for a solution itself the problem seemed to be ironed out. Or so I thought.
After the 8.1 upgrade, and reading through various forum posts, it seems many others are having the same issue - mostly unresolved. So until Intel posts an official fix, I thought I'd try my luck here.
The BSOD issue I am having is that I got the following error while playing a game:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (igdkmd64.sys)
I only got this error once. However, whenever I run any graphics intensive game, it is put into window mode when I get a popup error that warns of low memory (core temperatures also running off the charts like crazy), suggesting to terminate it immediately to prevent further problems.
I have updated both drivers (Intel: 10.18.10.3345 / NVIDIA: 9.18.13.3182) via their respective websites, tried disabling the Intel graphics, changed NVIDIA graphics settings to make it the preferred chip for all programs globally, all to no avail.
Hope some wise guru can help. And let me know if you need any more info.
