    BSOD page_fault_in_nonpaged_area waking from hibernate

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've been trying to get to the bottom of this under my own steam but I seem to have hit something of a brick wall. I've been using the hibernate function perfectly fine since windows 8 came out, however the past week or so, whenever I use it, when the computer wakes up again it starts up then displays a BSOD with the page_fault_in_nonpaged_area message.

I ran Memtest for 14 hours last night and that didn't have any problems. Anyway I set up Driver Verifier and have attached the folder from the diagnostic tool.

    Any help much appreciated

    Hi

    Please follow the below steps.

    1. Update System BIOS.

There is a BIOS update released for your machine specifically to add "Windows 8" support. Get it from Driver Details | Dell US

    2. There is a large number of outdated drivers in the system which are not compatible with "Windows 8".

    Code:
    qicflt.sys Fri Jul 2 07:16:34 2010 (4C2D44FA)
QicFilterDriver-64Bits from Quanta Computer/Dell Webcam Driver

    SynTP.sys Fri Sep 24 05:19:07 2010 (4C9BE773)
    Synaptic Touch Pad Driver

    HECIx64.sys Wed Oct 20 05:03:43 2010 (4CBE2AD7)
    Intel Management Engine Interface

    TurboB.sys Tue Nov 30 04:32:31 2010 (4CF43107)
    Intel Turbo Boost driver

    iaStor.sys Thu Jan 13 07:20:12 2011 (4D2E5A54)
    Intel Storage drivers

    RTKVHD64.sys Fri Feb 18 15:25:19 2011 (4D5E4207)
Realtek High Definition Audio Function Driver

    nvBridge.kmd Fri Apr 22 06:31:09 2011 (4DB0D355)
nVidia Compatible Vista Kernel Mode Driver (likely belongs to nForce chipset drivers)

    Accelern.sys Mon Dec 13 23:03:51 2010 (4D0658FF)
    ST MicroElectronics Accelerometer

Please uninstall currently installed versions of these drivers completely from the system and download the "Windows 8" compatible drivers from the below link.

Make sure to update all the drivers i listed.

    Thanks for your help.

I've updated the BIOS and the drivers as suggested (except I can't find a Windows 8 version of the webcam driver).

Unfortunately I'm still suffering the same issue. I've discovered that if I disable my Graphics card (GeForce GT 555M) and just use the integrated graphics I don't get the BSOD. I've tried completely removing the drivers and reinstalling, and running some benchmarks to stress the card and haven't come across any problems. I don't know if any of that helps.

I've added the latest results from the SF Diagnostic Tool.

    Hi

There are several incompatible drivers still in the system. Are you update to "Windows 8" from "Windows 7" ?.

    Please try the below steps.

    1. Uninstall NEC USB 3.0 drivers completely.

    Code:
    nusb3hub.sys Tue Sep 13 12:44:40 2011 (4E6F02E0)
NEC Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver (previous BSOD issues with 2010 and earlier versions)
    http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=nusb3hub.sys

    nusb3xhc.sys Tue Sep 13 12:44:43 2011 (4E6F02E3)
NEC Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver (previous BSOD issues with 2010 and earlier versions)
    http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=nusb3xhc.sys
These are "Windows 7" drivers. "Windows 8" support USB 3.0 out of the box and you should remove any "Windows 7 USB 3.0" drivers completely from the system.

    2.Uninstall "Intel Rapid Storage Technology".

    Current version is incompatible.

    Code:

    iaStor.sys Thu Jan 13 07:20:12 2011 (4D2E5A54)
    Intel Storage drivers
    http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=iaStor.sys
After uninstalling, download and install this version https://downloadcenter.intel.com/con...tel%C2%AE+RST)

    3. Update WiFi driver.

Please uninstall Intel Wireless driver and associated softwares completely from the system. After rebooting, install this version https://downloadcenter.intel.com/con...ireless-N+1000

    4. Set "Nvidia power management" to "Maximum Performance".

Follow insructions from - Setting "Power management mode" from Adaptive to Maximum Performance

    5. Update SSD firmware.

If your laptop came with "Micron Real SSD" , update firmware from Driver Details | Dell US

If any of the driver to be uninstalled are not listed in "Control Panel --> Programs" , please use "Device manager --> Delete driver" option.

Thanks for your help! That seems to have sorted the issue (specifically step 3 updating the wireless drivers). To answer your question, yes it's an upgraded version of Windows 8 from Windows 7.

    Hi

Upgrade installation will leave a lot of garbage which may create serious issues later. In your case, several drivers are actually carried out from "Windows 7" to "Windows 8" which is not good for the system. A clean install is always better.

I hope you won't see that nasty blue screens again .
