    BSOD crash

I would like to follow the Blue Screen of Death Posting Instructions but unfortunately, I cannot. The computer does not stay on long enough for me to run any diagnostic tests, no dump files are accessible. As soon as it starts up, within 10-20 secs the keyboard becomes inactive and then the BSOD shows itself. Is there a workaround?

    Hi

In that case, it is better to start with a hardware diagnostic test. Please follow instructions from the below link to run a memory stress test using the free tool "Memtest86+".

RAM - Test with Memtest86+ - Windows 7 Help Forums

Run the test for at least seven passes and report whether it detects any errors.

I will run this test later today and then advise the results. Thank you.

    Finally

Sorry it took so long but finally completed the hardware diagnostic test Memtest86+ and no errors were detected. Took a screenshot of the results. See attached. What should I do next?
I eagerly await your guidance. Thanks

    Hi

How safe mode works ? . If you can run the system fine in safe mode, copy and zip all the files inside "C:\Windows\Minidump" folder and attach them with the next reply. Those are the crash dump files which hopefully give us some clues about what is going on with your machine. If the "Minidump" folder seems to be empty, follow instructions from the below link and to set Windows to write "Small memory dumps".

    Set MiniDump

    Hi

Long process to get here, long story but, finally able to configure dump file settings and then via safe mode which was initially disabled, located the minidump. So here goes...see attached.
I really hope that this can point to the real issue so that I can have it fixed.
    Thanks again for you guidance.

    Hi

All your crash dump shows the same stop code - Bug Check 0x133 (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION)

    Code:
    BugCheck 133, {0, 504, 503, 0}

    Probably caused by : ACPI.sys ( ACPI!ACPIEcServiceIoLoop+1c2 )
This particular bugcheck is only present in "Windows 8" and so far the most difficult one to troubleshoot. The crash dump seems to blame ACPI.SYS which is related to the power management part of Windows.

    Please try the below steps.

    1. Make sure current power plan is set to "Balanced".

Power Plan Settings - Change in Windows 8

    2. Update system BIOS.

HP Notebook System BIOS Update (AMD Processors) - HP Pavilion g7-2269wm Notebook PC | HP® Support

    3. Uninstall Norton antivirus.

There is both Norton 360 and Comodo Internet Security/Firewall are installed on your system. Running two antivirus or firewall program simultaneously will result in serious conflicts (and actually it will lower the system security). Whether your BSOD issue is caused by this or not, you should remove either one of them completely. Since it is not possible to uninstall "Comodo" properly from "Safe mode" , please remove "Norton" by running the official removal tool.

    ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/englis...moval_Tool.exe

If the issue remains after performing the above steps, please upload the newly created dump with next reply.

    Hi Anshad

How significant is "Balanced" in the Power Options because I only have the options Energy Star Qualified (recommended) and Power Saver. I've selected the Energy Star. Additionally, I've been told that technicians usually shy away from updating the system BIOS as it is very tricky and can be risky. Since I am far from being a technician, is it safe for me to attempt to update the BIOS? What could possibly go wrong, in fact more wrong, when I do that? Please advise.
