Greetings!
I have been getting various BSODs on my computer as you will see in the dumps below.
I am an average computer user that knows his way around but i am not proficient enough to solve this by myself.

What i have noticed (if its of any relevance) is the following;
- A crash occurs every few hours.
- It almost never crashes while playing games, i can play ultra battlefield 4, arma 3 for hours without a crash.
- Crashes mostly happen while opening/closing browser, browser tabs and other programs like teamspeak3, but can happen while watching youtube etc.
- In Blue screen viewer i have noticed that the only thing in common of all the crashes is the crash addres being ntoskrnl.exe+5a440

What i did is;
-Reinstalled windows, didn't help much.
-Updated to a latest BIOS version.
-Ran Memtest for 4 passes last night, no errors.
-Used Intel SSD toolbox to update SSD firmware and to check the drive. - It gave me an error in my first check attempt but on repeated checks it passed with flying colors (5 tests or so).
-Ran surface test on SSD in Hard disk sentinel- it passed.
-Removed M-audio audiophile firewire sound card, and removed the drivers. Being an older card with non updated drivers i figured it might be the cause of problems. - After removal, the BSOD-s continued.

Please help me on this matter, i'm running out of ideas what to do next.
Regards!

P.S.
I haven't overclocked anything, my graphic is a factory overclock and my processor clock can vary due to Intel features (intel turbo boost).

Hi

Please try the below steps.

1. Uninstall Gigabye Easy Saver and On/Off Charge.

Code:

GIGABYTE On/Off Charge driver. See here for details - http://www.gigabyte.us/MicroSite/185/on-off-charge.htm

These softwares are known to cause BSOD in Widows 7 and 8 systems.

2. Update Logitech Keyboard/Mouse driver.

Current version is really old (Most probably Windows 7 version).

Code:

Update it from Windows 8 product support and device compatibility - Logitech FAQ

3. Manually set Memory frequency.

According to the official spec of your CPU, it only supports either DDR3 1333 or DDR3 1600.

Code:
[TABLE="class: specs infoTable, width: 477"]
[TR="class: tech"]
[TD="class: lc"]Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type)[/TD]
[TD="class: rc"]32 GB[/TD]
[/TR]
[TR="class: tech odd"]
[TD="class: lc, bgcolor: #F4F4F4"]Memory Types[/TD]
[TD="class: rc, bgcolor: #F4F4F4"]DDR3-1333/1600[/TD]
[/TR]
[/TABLE]

Currently your memory is running on 1860 Mhz and clearly there is a hardware mismatch issue. My primary suspect in your blue screens is this mismatching RAM modules from G-Skill. If possible, return the modules and buy 1600 MHz modules matching for your PC. If it is not possible to replace, set the memory clock to 1600 Mhz in BIOS setup. Refer the manual to do that.

Thanks for the reply.

I only recently installed gigabyte software and have had BSODs before i installed em, but i will uninstall just in case.
I will update my logitech drivers.
The latest thing i did is to turn intel turbo boost off in BIOS, and i will wait till my next crash to be able to eliminate that feature as a cause of BSODs.

I m quite stunned and dissapointed to find out that the new Intel Haswell processor doesn't support memory clocks of 1860 Mhz:/
If i BSOD again i ll change RAM frequency to 1600.

Regards!

P.S.
I followed the link you provided for updating my logitech drivers, but i haven't managed to update them since i cant find them there.
My logitech software is up to date. I also tried to update HID mouse driver from device manager, but no luck despite being dated in 2006.

Hi

Here is the official spec page of your CPU.

ARK | Intel® Core? i7-4770 Processor (8M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz)

It is always important to choose the right memory which perfectly matching to the CPU and motherboard chipset. If the CPU FSB is lower than memory clock speed, FSB will be auto overclocked. Some system works fine without issues and on the other hand, some systems may experience crashes, freezes, blue screens etc. Choosing the right components at build time will decrease the chances for this type of headaches.

The model i have (i am looking at the box i bought it in, and the receipt) is Intel 4771 at 3.5 ghz, but i dont think it makes any difference.
Thanks for your time and i ll report in later, cheers!

I changed my memory settings in BIOS to run at 1600 mhz.
Now my ram profile in speccy looks like this;
Type DDR3
Size 16384 MBytes
Channels # Dual
DRAM Frequency 798,2 MHz
CAS# Latency (CL) 8 clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD) 9 clocks
RAS# Precharge (tRP) 8 clocks
Cycle Time (tRAS) 24 clocks
Command Rate (CR) 2T

I hope this is it, i ll report if solved.
Many thanks!

I crashed again, "Video memory management internal" error. It happened while watching youtube.
I updated my dump files below.

I had my ddr3 going on 1600 mhz with no extreme profiles loaded in BIOS (11, 11, 11, 28).

Hi

111013-11125-02.dmp is the last crash dump in all the uploads. The last crash may failed to write minidump, i guess.

Please try the below steps.

1. Update Marvell SATA driver.

Your MoBo came with Marvell controller in addition to the Intel SATA controller but no "Marvell" driver can be seen in the loaded modules list. I guess the system is using standard SATA driver came with Windows. Please update the driver from the below link.

http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/mb_driver_marvell_sata_controller_8series.exe

2. Uninstall Gigabyte utilities.

Uninstall Gigabyte Easy Saver and ON/OFF charge from the system. They are known to cause issues with some systems.

3. Downgrade Nvidia driver.

Latest version of Nvidia driver seems to be problematic to a lot of people. There are multiple reports about it causing BSOD issues in Windows 8 systems. So we need to downgrade the driver as a test until the issue is resolved. First uninstall currently installed Nvidia components and display driver. While uninstalling, components like 3D vision, Physx etc should be uninstalled first and the display driver at last. After cleaning the old driver, install the below version.

NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce 320.49 Driver WHQL

While installing, choose custom and deselect everything except "Nvidia display driver" and "Physx". Also select "Perform a clean installation" option.

cleaninstallnvidia.jpg

4. Uninstall ESET antivirus.

None of the dumps blames ESET but i prefer to uninstall it to reduce the number of third party drivers to a minimum.

5. Update "Intel Chipset" driver.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/20775/eng/infinst_autol.exe&lang=eng&Dwnldid=20775&ProductID=816&ProductFamily=Software+Products&ProductLine=Chipset+Software&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Chipset+Software+Installation+Utility

Your Windows seems to be "Windows 8 Enterprise Edition" which is not available to home users. Although you can legally use it until the trial period is over, you won't be able to purchase a licence key for it (it's only available in large volumes).

Cracks are activating Windows either by installing rogue services or patching critical system files. This will make the system unstable so if you installed any pirate activators, please uninstall them first. Then run "System File Checker" to fix the corruption made to the system files.

Computer crashed again. At the time of crash the following steps were already done;
- installed marvell drivers
- uninstalled all gigabyte applications
- uninstalled nvidia drivers and performed a clean install of downgraded drivers
- tried to install intel chipset drivers you linked but my system had newer version of the same drivers so i didn't proceed

Eset antivirus wasn't uninstalled.

Computer crashed after being idle, i get BSODs very often after idling for a while, but not exclusively. My power settings are set to shut down hard disks after 20 minutes and monitor after 15. Sleep mode is turned off.

Below is the new speccy and the latest minidump.

Hi

1. Logitech drivers seems to be not updated.

Code:
[COLOR=RED][B]LGBusEnum.sys               Tue Nov 24 07:06:48 2009 (4B0B38B0)[/B][/COLOR]Logitech Keyboard

[COLOR=RED][B]LGVirHid.sys                Tue Nov 24 07:06:48 2009 (4B0B38B0)[/B][/COLOR]

[URL="http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=LGVirHid.sys"]http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=[B][COLOR=BLUE]LGVirHid.sys[/COLOR][/B][/URL]

Current version seems to be meant for "Windows 7" . Please update it to rule out compatibility issues.

2. Also uninstall "ESET" as a test. Kernel mode drivers used by AV programs can cause rogue blue screen issues and that is why i recommend to uninstall them. Turn on "Windows defender" to protect against malwares.

3. Gigabyte recommends to install three updates to solve some issues with USB 3.0. Here are the links to them.

Download Update for Windows 8 for x64-based Systems (KB2822241) from Official Microsoft Download Center

4. Swtich SATA ports.

There are reports that Marvell Controller and SSD won't works nicely and Intel ports are best for SSD drives. There are two white and four black ports in your MoBo. I am not sure which one is Marvell so just switch to the other color which is not currently used.

5. Adjust RAM timing values.

Enter BIOS setup and manually set the timing values printed on top of the RAM modules. Refer user manual before doing that. Latest bugcheck also points to a possible memory related issue.

Code:
BugCheck 4E, {99, 411742, 6, 100000000000001}

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nvlddmkm.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nvlddmkm.sys
Probably caused by : [COLOR=#ff0000][B]memory_corruption [/B][/COLOR]( nt!MiBadShareCount+4b )

BTW, if the CPU is overclocked, make sure to revert it.

  1. I only have logitech mouse and it has the latest drivers. I have disabled those 2 drivers you mentioned by renaming them from .sys to .old as i've read somewhere. I don't think i ll miss them:)
  2. I uninstalled ESET and enabled windows defender.
  3. I already had the updates gigabyte mentioned.
  4. My hard drives were not connected to marvel slots but to regular intel ones.
  5. I adjusted to the default RAM timings being 9-10-9-28

Hoping for the best.
Regards!

P.S.
I do miss them since my side-scroll middle mouse button stopped working.
In any case, i don't know how to update those drivers,
i can't find updates on the official site so i will leave them disabled for now.

:geek:

Three days without a BSOD, woah!
I can't be absolutely sure yet but my hopes are high.
Presuming it's solved now, it was all about one of three things i changed in the post above.

So either the old logitech drivers, ram timings or ESET (most likely reason imho).
I'll let it run like this for a few days more and then i will try to pinpoint the cause.

I can't thank you enough, :thumbsup:
Regards!
