Hi all,

I'm sure hoping someone can help me with this - first post ever. I tried to update my driver for my wireless card (Intel Centrino Wireless N-2230). Basically, I've been getting a number of different errors and then the BSOD from the Bad Pool thing to others everytime I try to:

- update the driver (through network & sharing and also win update)
- uninstall the driver
- disable the wireless adapter

It will also randomly shut down and give me the BSoD every few hours without doing anything other than surfing on firefox. I've attached the logs as directed in the sticky and I greatly appreciate any help from you experts!

Hi

"System information report" is missing in the upload.

1. Open RUN dialogue by pressing Win key and R together.

2. Type "Msinfo32.exe" and press "Enter" key. System info tool will open.

3. Choose "File --> Save" and upload the output file with the next reply.

Thank you so much - please see the attached file as requested. I fear it's getting worse since it crashed twice immediately on startup this morning with BAD DRIVER EXPOOL being the message.

Hi

Almost all dumps seems to blame Windows system files which are related to WiFi.

Code:
BugCheck 19, {21, fffffa800bdae000, 1090, 153d}

Probably caused by : [COLOR=#ff0000][B]nwifi.sys[/B][/COLOR] ( nwifi!ExtSTAShutdown+55 )

In the call stack, lot of Ndis.sys activities can be seen. So updating wireless driver should be the first thing to do. Please follow the below steps.

1. Uninstall current wireless drivers completely.

First remove "Intel PROSET wireless" , "Intel Blutooth" and related softwares completely from "Control Panel --> Programs. After rebooting the system, uninstall it from device manager with "Delete driver" option selected.

Like this :

2. Download and install the latest driver from the below link.

If the issue continues, upload the new crash dumps or re-run the "SF diagnostic tool" and upload the output. Also try to identify a pattern in the crashes by doing some specific tasks.

Thank you very much, Anshad. I completed all of those tasks, and will report back if there are any further troubles. A few notes: It kept crashing every time I tried to uninstall the Intel Pro/set software as well as the drivers, or even disable the the wifi card, so I had to plug in the ethernet cable and that seemed to allow me to then uninstall everything needed. I also noticed that it looked like the culprit was that the recent driver was not digitally signed/verified, and that it had failed when it tried to install the the most updated driver (this was when it started crashing).

I'll give it a day or two, and report back to let you know whether or not it is completely fixed. Thank you so very much for your time and help!
