Hello.
My notebook: Toshiba SATELLITE P875-BNS
OS: Windows 8.1 x64
My Network Card: Qualcomm Atheros AR8161 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)

I have a
l1c63x64.sys BSOD for many times after upgrading to 8.1 and try to find something on this forum.Updating drivers from Qualcomm Atheros :: Corporate :: Customer Portal didn't solve my problem.

Here is my system dump. Can you give me any advice?

p.s. Sorry for my english.

Hi

Although the crash dump blames Atheroz LAN driver as the reason behind the crashes, it is actually caused by Agnitium (outpost) firewall drivers.

Code:
ffffd000`22a84d88 fffff800`019c8180Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\drivers\afwcore.sys, Win32 error 0n2*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for afwcore.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for afwcore.sys

This firewall program is trying to filter every packet send and receive through the Ethernet adapter which eventually leads to the crash.
Please uninstall Agnitium firewall from Control Panel --> Programs first. Then download and run the official cleaning tool to remove leftovers.

Windows doesn't need a third party software firewall for security. Windows firewall is more than enough for basic security and it won't crash the system unlike others.

Why You Don?t Need to Install a Third-Party Firewall (And When You Do)

Thank you for the reply.

I have some gaming and file servers on my computer, and use this firewall to protect from DDOS and other attacks. Is there any programs which didn't crash the system and have same functions?

Sorry for my english again..

Hi

If you are concerned about security, it is better to buy a hardware firewall. If properly configured, it will guarantee you strong and solid protection. Almost all the software firewalls like Comodo, Zonealarm etc are known to cause issues with "Windows 8".

First step you should do is to remove the outpost firewall from your system, clean leftovers as i instructed and check whether the BSOD issue continues. If everything works fine, we can think about an alternative.

Uninstalling Outpost Firewall really solve my problem. Can you help me find alternative?
