BSOD Crashes When Gaming

Hey guys,

This doesn't always happen, but often enough, when I am gaming, the PC will eventually BSOD. Normally it happened infrequently enough for me not to be bothered, but it has been increasing in occurrences and it is beginning to annoy me. It never happens outside of gaming.

I believe the event log error is 6008. I ran the diagnostic tool and uploaded the results here.

    8.1 64x
same here.
i also have core version win 8.1 , upgraded from windows store.
while playing FarCray 3 i got BSOD of intelppm.sys.
before on win 8 , it works like charm. not a single BSOD ever came before on win8.
My bad, upgraded to 8.1.

For starters:
At work we start all repairs with a set of diagnostics. Often they find problems that weren't even expected. It's a waste of time to try to fix software on a system that has hardware problems.
Please try these free diagnostics for starters: Initial Hardware Diagnostics
Also, please ensure that you have ALL available Windows Updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

SSD's were temperamental when they first came out, but their reliability has improved greatly over the last year or two. There are 2 things that MUST be checked on systems with BSOD's and SSD's:
1) That the SSD firmware is the latest available for the SSD. I usually can't see this info in the reports, so I rely on you to check it.
2) That the storage controller drivers on the motherboard are the most recent. They must date from late 2012 or later. This is ALL controllers, not just the one that the SSD is attached to. If involved these should be visible in the memory dump - but it doesn't hurt to check manually.

This device has problems, please remove it and uninstall it's software (I presume that it's a cell phone):
GT-I9300 USB\VID_04E8&PID_6860&MS_COMP_MTP&SAMSUNG_ANDROID\7&10C9CB35&0&0000 This device cannot start.
Feel free to reinstall it with the latest Win8.1 drivers AFTER the system has been stabilized.

This is probably a video problem (IMO), please:
- try these diagnostics: Video TDR Timeout - 0x116 + 0x117 - Sysnative Forums
- make sure that you try the video diagnostics here also: Hardware Diagnostics

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Intel Management Engine Interface
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=HECIx64.sys

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics. Let us know the results and we can move on from there.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions (I don't expect any results from this, but I ask for it just in case it's a driver problem): Driver Verifier Settings
