I bought a new Acer MC605 with W8 and I installed Office 2013. I try to only work from the desktop. Everything appears to work fine but each time I start up (also from a restart) I enter my login code and when the W8 screen appears I receive this message to be sent to MS:

'Your PC ran into a problem. This problem caused your PC to restart.
C:\Windows\minidump\101413-20718-01.dmp
C:\Users\Hans\AppData\local\Temp\WER-40531-0.sysdata.xml
C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP

I followed your instructions to run a diagnostics with SF-Diagnostics tool and attach the zip file to this post.

I saw several posts with a similar problem.

I have no games installed. Only basic software. JAVA is installed.

Grateful for your advice.
Hans

I downloaded the cardreader driver (6.1.8400.39030) from the Acer store and installed it. This did not help. A restart took very long and finally came back with the original problem of my post.
I also installed the driversdownloader but they want $29.95 from me before it runs. This is no problem but is it safe to run? I see all sorts of software being pushed to me and my external HD cannot be safely removed anymore (the device is currently in use). No idea what is accessing this HD.
I googled on aabed2.sys and found several programs offering help. But I have no idea if I can trust these. I use F-secure as an anti virus scanner.

Do not buy anything from them.
May I ask if you are using any type of card reader device ? If not, you can turn off these services.

EDIT: I am not familiar with F-Secure Anti Virus But yes, sometimes Anti virus does cause the conflict resulting BSOD.

Dear topgundcp,
Last night a sent another 2 hours checking out one thing and the other but no luck.
When I started the pc this morning, same problem. But then I read your posting and indeed I have a cardreader from my bank that is plugged in via a USB cable. I decided to pull out the card and do a restart without much hope. These restarts took ca 2.5 minutes. But this time BINGO!!! immediate restart and problem solved. I repeated the process a few times, the problem stays away. Have not yet tried to restart with the reader plugged in.
I remember there were some problems installing this reader, the helpdesk of the bank was complaining about W8....

So, many many thanks for your great help. Good to see experts at work. And I removed the driversdownload software.

Have a nice day

Hans

ps I checked the cardreader device and found somewhere this statement, it means nothing to me but I will contact my bank.

event1

event2

I am glad that we pinned down what the problem was. Since you have the card reader unplugged from the USB port but the software/Services for the card reader still in your system and try to initialize the card reader at startup and that's why it took 2.5 minutes to boot. I would suggest to uninstall the drivers and disable any services for the card reader for now and wait until they have a new compatible drivers for Win 8.
Cheers !!!

EDIT: Event1 & Event2 should go away once you uninstall the driver/disable the services.

I informed my bank and in the meantime I will shut down and start-up with the reader not attached. Once W8 is up and running this reader works fine!

I also tried to restart with the reader installed and indeed same old problem! I sent this thread to the ABNAmro so their backoffice can read it too!

Have a nice day

Hans
