Hi. I am getting a BSOD 1-2 times a day. It seems to happen most often when running Steam or a gaming application, but is not unique to running those types of applications. I have had the comp crash while watching a movie or even just idling. Usually when the BSOD of death shows up I get the error SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION.

Please help. Thanks.

You have a Linksys WUSB6300:
I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win7/Win8 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7(and I suspect with Win8) - using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7/Win8 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

There may be several problems here, but let's start with the most recent first:
BS_DEF.sys is blamed in 2 of the last 3 memory dumps.

I believe it's some sort of Asus driver, but can't find it right now.
I'm late for work - and I'll check back here this afternoon (eastern time in the US) to see if I can figure it out.

Remove Western Digital software - it driver dats from 2008 and is known to cause BSOD's
Remove Asus AIBooster - it's driver dates from 2008 also.

Sorry for not getting back sooner, but family problems took my time yesterday afternoon.
I've looked for BS_DEF.sys and just can't seem to find it anywhere.

Before uninstalling, please check in C:\Windows for the BS_DEF.sys file.
Right click on it and select "Properties"
Then select the Details tab and make a note of the descriptions there to see if they'll help us figure out what it is.

I found one reference (by me several years ago) that says it seems to be the Default BIOS Flash Driver which is a part of Asus Update (or maybe the WinFlash utility). Please uninstall both to see if that helps

You have 3 hard drives. What is the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply?

SSD's were temperamental when they first came out, but their reliability has improved greatly over the last year or two. There are 2 things that MUST be checked on systems with BSOD's and SSD's:
1) That the SSD firmware is the latest available for the SSD. I usually can't see this info in the reports, so I rely on you to check it.
2) That the storage controller drivers on the motherboard are the most recent. They must date from late 2012 or later. This is ALL controllers, not just the one that the SSD is attached to. If involved these should be visible in the memory dump - but it doesn't hurt to check manually.

Lot's of Live Kernel Events in the WER section of MSINFO32
Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

Also, monitor your system's temperatures with this free tool: HWMonitor CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting
Normally temps shouldn't exceed:
CPU - 60ºC
GPU - 80ºC
HDD and other components - 40ºC

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Thank you for the detailed reply. I really appreciate your help.

I have updated or removed all drivers that you mentioned and have gone ahead and removed any ASUS software from the PC, since the majority of the problems that you mentioned above seem to be related to that.

I cannot tell whatBS_DEF.sys belongs to, but I have attached some screen shots of the details for your viewing. The file just exists right in the c:\windows folder.

My power supply is an OCZ / OCZ-ZX850W / 850W.

I am trying to download the latest firmware for my PNY SSDs, but the updater from their support page is downloading correctly. I am waiting for a reply from their support team for a fix.

How do I go about finding out if the storage controller drivers for the motherboard are the most recent? I went into the Windows Device Manager and looked under the storage controllers setting and found a "Windows Storage Spaces Controller", but do not know of any updates for this. The driver dates from 2006.

Let me know if you need any more info from me. Thanks again for your help.

Wow. Upon coming hom about 30 minutes ago, my computer promptly crashed on me with a BSOD and then has been followed by about 6 more BSODs for varying reasons.

I am noticing that in your post above win32k.sys and ntkrnlmp.exe are popping up as probable causes very often. Why is this?

I have attached another zip from the diagnostic tool so that you can view these BSOD causes.

Thanks

Sorry I had to attach this separately, as I did not think that I would have enough time due to frequent BSODs all of the sudden.

Don't worry about the controller driver's dates right now. If they show up as older in the memory dumps, then I'll ask you to update them.

Thanks for the pictures. Unfortunately no one bothered to fill out the details when designing the driver - IMO it's sloppy work (but I'm not a developer).

Multiple different BSOD's are usually a sign of a low-level problem (low-level drivers, compatibility issues, or hardware problems).

ntkrnlmp.exe is the kernel (core) of the operating system. Win32k.sys is a core driver for the operating system. If these were the actual problem you'd be seeing many more problems other than the BSOD's. Most often this is caused by bad 3rd party drivers doing things in the memory space owned by the Windows drivers.

There are no memory dumps in the uploaded reports. But there are crashes listed in the WER section of MSINF32.nfo
As you stated, they are different codes and there are several of them. They tend to point at hardware.
I'd start with these hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

Lot's of Bonjour errors in the Admin logfile - please uninstall/reinstall iTunes.

Lot's of EventID 41 errors that seem to be paired with NTFS errors. Please be sure to run the hard drive tests from the hardware diagnostics link above (here's a link direct to the page: Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure )
