Your dmp files indicated either you have a bad Video Driver or you have a bad memory stick.

  1. Update your video driver from the manufacturer
  2. Download Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool, burn it to a cd/USB stick and run memtest for at least 6-8 hours

OK weird..... I build a new computer in 2013 february and only needed to replace my old hd4890 gfx card. I had bsods and found some currupted files. I did memtest back then and found nothing. I had a feeling maybe my old gfx had something to do with it. So i went out got windows 8 and a new gfx hd7970. I did a fresh install and now its owning me with bsods when i play games.

Im gonna do memtest again and also use windows 8 memtest extended, so i can say ive done that again. I tends to happend in games only atm. Hope I can get it fixed :S Ill try amd's driver and xfx's driver. Maybe try some older one's to.

Hello again,

I tested the memory for over 6 hours and passed. I tried 3 gfx drivers: windows build in driver, amd driver and amd lastest beta driver. All 3 are different versions and crashed with all 3 and restarted.

I had this issue with my old gfx card too.... any advice ? im stuck....

I added 2 new dumps from the 2 crashes with a different version gfx driver.

Your last 2 BSOD's. One is caused by memory corruption, the other caused by dxgmms1.sys and you said you run the test for the RAM. How did you run the test ? did you use memtes86+ ?.

suggest to try:
  1. Unplug any USB devices except Mouse and Keyboard
  2. Make sure you have the latest BIOS updated.
  3. Make sure you have the latest Chipset driver installed.
  4. If you are overclocking, please set it back to default.
  5. Turn off any anti virus software except the built in Windows Defender.
  6. Boot up the PC, open the Elevated command prompt and run:
    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

I used windows memory test. I ran the longest test about 6 hours. Cant find my memtest86+ cd atm.

1. done
2. done
3. done
4. done
5. done
6. done

Im having alot of errors now, i cant even run a game now. Steam wont work, uplay wont work, Origin wont work. Im beginning to think its the stupid motherboard thats messed up ... I got a asrock z68 extreame4 gen3 and there is even a facebook profil about that motherboard + bsod.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/ASRock-Z68-Extreme4-Motherboard-BSODfreezing-issues/158507274235904

im really hating this computer right now....

i added a new file with logs over the games not opening because of steam, origin and uplay. something to do with ntdll.dll, im afraid its in danish some of it :S

Windows memory test is no good and most of the time won't find any errors. You need to use memtest86+ and run 6-8 hours. Please do this before we can go on.

Also, please check if your RAM sticks are on the compatible list with your mother board.

You can download the latest memtest86+ from here: Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

I did a memtest with memtest+86 v4.20. I ran it for 10 hours and it passed the test 8 times with 0 errors.

The ram is Kingston's KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX and they are on Asrock's compatible list.

Before you return the MB , let us try:
Open the case and try to re-seat everything: RAM, video card, check the Sata cable for tight connection.
Also, make sure your HD is not defected. Open Elevated command prompt and run: chkdsk C: /r /f
It will take a while to complete.

BTW, what brand and wattage of your PSU ?

I checked for lose connection and their was none. I changed the ssd's sata cable, just to try it and took out the hd7970 card out and using the cpu's gfx. Now steam works and uplay and it doesnt crash in games. SO then i wanted to try with my hd7970 plugged in my pc and then i found out it had nothing to do with the new sata cable, but my hd7970 card.

So when I use onboard gfx, everything works. When i change bios to use my pci-x as main gfx, then steam crashes and wont load up. Very weird :/ Any ideas ? I had probloms with a hd4890 and now my new card hd7970.... should i try a other gfx just to be sure its not my motherboards pci-x there is something wrong with?

Does your MB have another PCI-X slot to try on ?

UPDATE: I looked at the detailed spec for hd7970, the interface is PCI Express 3.0 x16. Does your MB support this ? or backward compatitle ?

It does have another pci-x slot. Should proberly try my hd7970 in the other pci-x slot. I cant understand whats the cause of the steam crash when steam loads up with my hd7970....

its a Asrock Z68 extreme4 gen3:

- 2 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (PCIE2/PCIE4: single at x16 or dual at x8/x8 mode)
- 1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot (PCIE5: x4 mode)
- 2 x PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots
- 2 x PCI slots
- Supports AMD Quad CrossFireX™, 3-Way CrossFireX™ and CrossFireX™
- Supports NVIDIA[SUP]®[/SUP] Quad SLI™ and SLI™

It does support....

Does Asrock have a new bios out for your mboard--perhaps one that they've released for better Win8/ or cpu support? Feel comfortable flashing a bios?

I'm running a PCI-e 3.0 2GB 7850 in a PCI-e 2.0 mboard without the slightest problem. PCI3 3.0 gpus are backwards-compatible with 2.0-only mboards....

However, recently I've been reading about some very weird Intel chipsets--value chipsets--that some mboard vendors are cramming into mid-range boards. Someone introduced me to one the other day on this site that "supposedly" supported PCIe-2.0 but didn't have a *single* 16-lane PCIe slot onboard! Weird stuff! Person was having problems, unsurprisingly. That's the kind of thing Asrock likes to do, too.

Asrock would not be my 1,2,3 or even 4th choice in a motherboard, though. Some people love 'em. Your hardware sounds fine--but either you have some kind of electrical short going on somewhere (like a metal bolt/screw caught between the bottom of the mboard and the shell of the steel case, etc.) or else you've got a bad motherboard.

My 1st step would be to get rid of the mboard and get something by MSI or ASUS in there, instead. Good luck!

You are welcome. I am glad it's working now.
If your MB is still under Warranty, why not send it back ? you never know you might want to use this slot in the future for other things such as adding a sound board, sata expansion, usb 3.0 expansion etc...

I am thinking about buying a new mb from msi or asus and send asrock mb back. I cant avoid a computer atm since im almost finished with my education and dooing my tests and projects atm.

Sametime im worried about if those shop testers dont read my mail carefully and just test with a random gfx(low end card). They have a charging fee ~80 dollars a hour and if they test for hours and nothing happends, then i have to pay for their time they wasted. That could be expensive and not worth it.

Ill think about what to do, but atm im busy with my final tests and group projects =)
