New Computer - BSOD - Kernel Security Check Failure

Hi,

I recently purchased a new Dell XPS 8700 and had my first BSOD a few hours after using my computer for the first time. It now happens quite frequently, a few times an hour maybe, and I'm not quite sure what the problem is. I have uploaded the crash dump files and let me know if you need any more details! I never had to deal with such a kind of problem before so I'm not sure what information you would need.

Thank you!

I just updated the BIOS but am still receiving the same BSOD message. All my dump files mention ntoskrnl.exe. Perhaps I may need to reinstall Windows?

I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win7/Win8 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7(and I suspect with Win8) - using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7/Win8 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

This device is disabled. Is it deliberate? If so, why?
Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHz) PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_02091028&REV_01\4&228C828A&0&00E7 This device is disabled.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): [DEL] DuplexSecure - FAQ [/DEL] Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disc-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

MRVW24C.sys is blamed in the WER section of MSINFO32 - as do all the memory dumps.
This driver belongs to your wireless USB network adapter - and it dates from 2007 (Vista era)
See my note above about these devices. I strongly suggest that you uninstall the software for this device AND that you physically remove it from your system.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Thank you so much for your response Usasma. I had already restored my Windows to factory settings in hopes of fixing the issue, but received the same set of BSODs, so we can rule out Daemon Tools because I had not reinstalled it.

You bring up a good point with my wireless USB network adapter. I have unplugged the adapter and uinstalled the driver via device manager. Is there anywhere else I should be looking to completely remove it from my system? Additionally, the reason I first disabled the onboard wireless card and used the usb adapter was because I was receiving terrible internet performance with the former, with speedtests showing speeds of almost 2-3x slower than average and my internet drastically slowing down when I had multiple things downloading. The wireless usb adapter gave me much better performance, not quite sure why. Either way, I've removed the wireless adapter and hope that may help resolve my BSOD issue. I will report back on my status.

Thank you!

Good luck! I hope that this fixes your problems.

FWIW - a built-in wireless card such as the one installed inside your system is normally much faster than a USB wireless card.
If having problems with connection speed, I'd suggest updating the drivers for the card from the Dell website.
