    Bsod error help

While I was playing borderlands it my pc stopped responding and after a restarting my pc I got the bsod with VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (nvlddmkm.sys) error. The pc kept restarting with the same error (It got stuck in loop). I used safe mode to remove the drivers but whenever I installed any nvidia drivers it gives the same error and gets stuck in the loop again.

I also did a clean installation of windows but still the same problem. While system is booting 660 gtx appears at the very start but after booting in safemode the card appears as microsoft basic display adapter. The driver setup detects the card installs the driver but after restart the same bsod error but in safemode it appears as 660 gtx while drivers are installed otherwise it appears as microsoft basic display adaptor if drivers are not installed.

The card is new I purchased it a month ago and is still in warranty.

    Specs:
    Intel Core i7 2600
    4 GB Ram
    inno3d 660 gtx
    600W PSU
    Intel dh67cl motherboard

Do you have another graphics card to swap out for the one thats giving you errors , see if it's the definatly the hardware causing the issue , or try an older driver version as sometimes the latest one isn't the best.

Did you choose 'clean install' when replacing the drivers?

I tried another card it was working fine with the same drivers or any other drivers. Also I contacted a local expert and he said that its the card capacitor that's causing the error. Since the card is in warranty will it be replaced ?

That depends on the warranty given by the company you bought it from , normally if I've RMA'd a graphics card , after they have tested it I've received a new one as repairing them is often not cost effective.

I have had to send one directly back to the manufacturer once for replacement as the company I bought it from said I'd had it too long for them to deal with the RMA (> 1 month).

But then I never went back to them for anything ever again for any of the PC builds I did after that.
