BSOD & Kernel Security Check Failure

    Hey everyone,

I've been having some problems after doing a clean install of Windows 8. At least once a day now, I get a BSOD with the error message of "Kernel Security Check Failure". Some googling says it seems to be due to drivers but I can't seem to find anything. Perhaps someone could take a look at all of these logs and see if they could give any feedback? Thanks!

    Win8.1Pro - Finally!!!

You have 8 hard drives. What is the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply?

SSD's were temperamental when they first came out, but their reliability has improved greatly over the last year or two. There are 2 things that MUST be checked on systems with BSOD's and SSD's:
    1) That the SSD firmware is the latest available for the SSD
    2) That the storage controller drivers on the motherboard are the most recent. They must date from late 2012 or later. This is ALL controllers, not just the one that the SSD is attached to.
Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): [S] DuplexSecure - FAQ [/S] Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).

The latest memory dumps blame covefs.sys - a driver component of your CoveCube software. Please uninstall the software, download a fresh copy of the latest, Win8 compatible version and install it.

Earlier memory dumps also mention cbfs3 - a driver component of your Callback File System. Please uninstall the software, download a fresh copy of the latest, Win8 compatible version and install it.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Thank you so much usasma! It just crashed on me again, so I will follow your instructions and report back!

My power supply is a 2 year old CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V, so I think that should be okay I think?

    Win8.1Pro - Finally!!!

I would disconnect several of the hard drives (4 should be enough) and see if that slows down the frequency of the BSOD's. Disconnect the power at the drive, and the data cable from the motherboard. 650 watts isn't all that much, especially in an older PSU.
