So I've been getting BSOD's when I put my laptop to sleep and wake it up. The error is BAD_POOL_HEADER.

I used WhoCrashed to check the dumps, and below is the screenshot of what I found:

What do I do? How can I fix this?

I'm on Win 8 64-bit and do not have the CD/DVD of the OS.

That information is inadequate for analysis. Follow the sticky at the top of the BSOD forum and then update this post with all required information. Good luck.

First i will suggest you to follow these instruction
- Update drivers for your hardware. Most Blue Screens of Death are hardware or driver related so updated drivers could fix the cause of the STOP error.
- Return BIOS settings to their default levels. An overclocked or misconfigured BIOS can cause all sorts of random issues, including BSODs.

Let me if this help you then i am sharinga accurate guidelines given in a video tutorial . You can follow the link given below

All drivers are up to date.

Will resetting the BIOS also reset m system (OS, files, data, settings etc)?

No but I doubt that a BIOS reset will fix your issue. Just sit tight and wait for a proper analysis of the files you uploaded. I think one of our experts is active today.

These devices have problems in Device Manager:
USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller ROOT\UOIP_BUS_DRIVER\0000 This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device.

Not Available ROOT\STORLIB\0000 The drivers for this device are not installed.
For the first one, right click on it and select "Uninstall" (DO NOT check the box to remove the driver software). Once that's done, reboot the system and check to see if the device remains a problem.

I'm uncertain about the other device (I think it belongs to a storage controller, but am not real sure). Please do the following:
- press the Win key and the R key
- in the dialog that pops up type "perfmon /report" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- let the report run (it'll take a while, I don't believe it's only 60 seconds)
- when done, click on File...then on Save As
- name the file perfmon and save the file as an html file in a place that's easy for you to find (such as your Desktop)
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

The errors seem to be related to networking, and one points to fortidrv.sys - a driver for your FortiClient Network Driver.
Since this driver (and other FortiClient drivers) are older, there's a chance that they aren't compatible with Win8. Please:
- download a copy of the latest, Win8 compatible FortiClient drivers from their website ( Fortinet | UTM, Next Generation Firewall, Network Security, Endpoint Security Appliances )
- uninstall the current program from your system
- install the freshly downloaded program
- monitor for further BSOD's
- also check Device Manager to see if this has fixed the ROOT\STORLIB\0000 device

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Hi

Thanks a lot for the analysis and the response. I've attached the perfmon file.

As for the drivers, I'll update all drivers that I can. How do I uninstall drivers? I have Revo Uninstaller, but cannot find driver names in it..

Thanks

I deliberately don't include driver removal instructions - as it's not just a simple matter of removing a file (and that may render the system un-bootable).
What I do suggest is that you uninstall the program that's associated with that device.
If unable to do that, then I suggest looking the device up in Device Manager and right clicking on it. Select "uninstall" to remove the device and it's associated driver.
If needed, I can provide instructions on how to safely remove drivers manually, but we're not at that stage here.

Which device/driver is giving you problems? Some may be safe to leave alone temporarily, while others may require more research on my part. At this point the FortiNet stuff is the biggest concern to me. It's most likely associated with your internet security protection and/or firewall.

No sign of the owner of the STORLIB thing or the FortiNet in the perfmon report.

You're right. I uninstalled Fortinet thingy and now my laptop doesn't give me BSOD. However, what should I do with the USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller driver? I updated all drivers, and this one still has an exclamation mark. I have disabled it for now, because I fear uninstalling it will make my laptop work abnormally. What would you suggest?

Normally you would:
- enable it
- reboot
- right click on it and select "Uninstall" (DO NOT select the checkmark to uninstall the software)
- reboot
- check and see if the problem remains (I fix a couple a month at work this way).

If the problem does remain, there are other things to try.

If you're still worried about it having ill effects on your system, set a System Restore point prior to trying to uninstall it.

I do not recommend the use of Registry cleaners - they can damage the registry and prevent Windows from loading. Please do not mess with the registry in this way.

I do not recommend the use of driver updater software. It is confusing and inaccurate. If it asks for money to update drivers, then it's (IMO) a rip off - as we will tell you how to do it accurately for free right here.

I have not been facing any issues. Unfortunately, I'll have to install Forti again for work thing. I don't know what to do.

Are you able to try the Forti thing on another system (to see if you can log into work from it)?
If you try it on another Win8 system and it works - then it's most likely a problem with your system.
If it doesn't work on another Win8 system, then it's likely a problem with Win8

Then try it on a Win7 system to see if it works there.

I'd also suggest talking with the IT folks at work to see if they can help out.

Let's fall back on the usual BSOD analysis method:
1) Fix a bunch of stuff (from my previous post)
2) Wait for further BSOD's
3) Zip up the contents of C:\Windows\Minidump and upload it with your next post
4) Fix the stuff that I post
5) Go to Step 2 (continue this loop until the problem is fixed)

FWIW - I'm guessing that it's an issue in the networking sub-system (most likely the wireless portion). And the only device there that has notable issues is the HUAWEI Mobile Connect USB Modem. Try:
- uninstall the HUAWEI device software, then physically remove the device from your system
- then try using a wired connection to see if you can get the Fortinet stuff to connect to work that way.
If it works, then it's a problem with the HUAWEI device
If it doesn't work, then we'll have to look elsewhere to find the problem (loop to Step 2 :0).
