Windows 8: Freezes Randomly

Hello,

I have the problem that my Windows 8 freezes randomly. I've read several things here, but none match my problem. It happened already with Windows 7, but the problem was few days later gone. Now I have changed to Windows 8 because I've been working with it. Since yesterday, the problem occurs again and i don't know why. Mostly it happens when I leave the computer running overnight to upload some videos to youtube. But it also came once before, where I opened a program to check the temperatures.

My System:

OS: Windows 8 Pro x64
Mainboard: Gigabyte GA990FXA UD3 Rev. 1.2
Graphic: ASUS Geforce GTX660 DirectCU II OC (2048MB)
CPU: AMD FX 8350 (Cooler: Arctic Freezer A30)
RAM: 8GB TeamGroup Elite (1333Mhz)
beQuiet! 530W

Just my graphics card is overclocked by factory, nothing else.

I uploaded also my eventlog and my temps, hope this helps.

(It's very hot today in germany ~ 32°C and this are my idle temps)

Thanks for helping me.

Ps.: I hope you can understand me - my english isn't perfect :)

Edit: I forgot to upload those files from the SF Diagnostic Tool.

Your idle temps are way too high in certain areas and your readout shows those areas in question by displaying a red thermometer. My first guess is there has to be something wrong with the way you connected your heat sink assembly. Next, I would also look at a possibility of increasing the airflow but not until I tried fixing that first issue. Also, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your mobo has gome through a ton of hardware revisions (not a good sign) and you have one of the earlier versions. Since v1.2, they have issued a rev 3.0 and jumed again to rev 4.0. Those are some pretty hefty hardware revisions. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.

But i don't understand all of it. Is my Motherboard death? You have to know that there is currently very hot in Germany and had my room around 30 degrees - maybe the temps ok?

Maybe it's the old graphics card from Gigabyte (GTX560TIOC). That's thing broke two months ago (typical problems with this card).
But what are these "revisions" ? Though 1.2 was a version name

Edit: These temp-symbols are by default - not by overheating

You have 3 hard drives. What is the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply?

SSD's were temperamental when they first came out, but their reliability has improved greatly over the last year or two. There are 2 things that MUST be checked on systems with BSOD's and SSD's:
1) That the SSD firmware is the latest available for the SSD
2) That the storage controller drivers on the motherboard are the most recent. They must date from late 2012 or later. This is ALL controllers, not just the one that the SSD is attached to.

Your Intel RAID storage driver (iaStorV.sys) dates from before mid-2012 (actually yours dates from 2011) and should be updated . Try this driver (I got this link on 10 Jul 2013):
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/De...rapid+Storage+Technology+(Intel+RST)&lang=eng
Use the SetupRST.exe file - the other 2 are the "preinstall" drivers for use when first installing an OS that doesn't have these drivers. If it doesn't install, post back and I'll research it further.

Both memory dumps blame GameKB.sys - a driver for your SHARKOON Skiller Please:
- download a fresh copy of the latest, Win8 compatible driver
- uninstall the current driver
- install the freshly downloaded drivers
- monitor for further BSOD's

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.
Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure - Sysnative Forums

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install". Reboot for changes to take affect.
Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

Keep an eye on your wireless USB XBox controller and it's drivers (xusb22.sys). I've seen a couple of issues that may be attributed to it over the last week. The previous iteration (xusb21.sys) is known to cause BSOD's - so I have to wonder about this one.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

btw. I don't have a ATI Graphics Card, so i don't need this? I uninstalled the Catalyst thing

Got an Blue Screen. I installed the latest mainboard usb driver and unplugged for safety my sharkoon skiller keyboard. After the installatioen of the usb driver from gigabyte, windows installed automatically drivers e.g. Logitech G400 Mouse. So i plugged in my Keyboard and boom! Blue Screen. Maybe my Keyboard makes my computer freeze? My friend got last year blue screen because of his mouse.

I uploaded again a Diagnostic File.

I also noticed, that my "TMPIN2" , whatever that is?, is very hot. My room has about 28°C.

I think that the iaStorV.sys driver is obtained as an optional update through Windows Update. I need to do more research on this, but there's just not that much info available. The next time I install Win8 at work, I'll follow up on this.

As the Sharkoon Skiller was blamed in the previous memory dumps, I'd have to suspect it now.
You must replace the current Sharkoon drivers with a fresh copy in order to see if it's the drivers or the hardware.

Another thing to try is another USB port - one as far from the other as is possible.

The 69º reading may be a glitch in the program. The other readings are high, but not alarmingly so. I'd check the system to be sure that the cooling is functional, all the fans are working, that there's no dirt/dust in the coolers, and that there's good airflow within the case.

This memory dump also blames the Sharkoon - so that's most likely where the problem lies. Now it's just a matter of seeing if it's a driver or a hardware problem (see my notes above).

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

This night i got my old Logitech Keyboard and my PC doesn't freeze or do anything. :)
I uninstalled the Sharkoon Software, and maybe I sell the keyboard.

But i can't update these:

LGVirHid.sys Mon Nov 23 20:36:48 2009 (4B0B38B0)
Logitech Gamepanel Virtual HID Device Driver
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=LGVirHid.sys

LGBusEnum.sys Mon Nov 23 20:36:48 2009 (4B0B38B0)
Logitech Keyboard
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=LGBusEnum.sys

PxHlpa64.sys Mon Oct 17 10:29:34 2011 (4E9C3BCE)
Sonic CD/DVD driver (used by many different CD/DVD programs)
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=PxHlpa64.sys

So..maybe uninstall?

If you're not using any special features on the Logitech keyboard, then uninstall.
If you are, then keep the software - it's not often that this is the cause of BSOD's

For now, ignore the PxHlpa64.sys driver - it's also not often the cause of BSOD's

Without the Sharkoon installed, we wait for the next BSOD.....
