I getting this error when I try and shutdown my laptop, will not shutdown and after a couple of minutes it comes up with the above error.

Attached is the information from the SF Diagnostic Tool.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Just an update, I am been trying and few things out but I just brought a new monitor Acer T232HL touch screen. It is connected via and HDMI port and needs a usb connection in order to use the touch function. If I disconnect the monitor the problems seems to go away and can shutdown as normal.

Not sure if that's any use

If you disconnect the monitor - how can you see what you're doing? Do you have a second monitor - or do you replace this one with another one (and then it works fine).

Have you tried using the new monitor without the USB connected (just for troubleshooting)? Does the system still have problems with that?

SSD's were temperamental when they first came out, but their reliability has improved greatly over the last year or two. There are 2 things that MUST be checked on systems with BSOD's and SSD's:
1) That the SSD firmware is the latest available for the SSD
2) That the storage controller drivers on the motherboard are the most recent. They must date from late 2012 or later. This is ALL controllers, not just the one that the SSD is attached to.

If using the Corsair Link2 software, please uninstall it - as it's known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems.

I would suggest removing and reinstalling your wifi drivers - as the memory dumps seem to be having issues with wireless.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Thanks so much for the quick response.

I am using a laptop (G75VX running windows 8), I also have another monitor that has been connected to the laptop for 6months without any shutdown issues. The BSOD started when I connected the Acer T232HL to the laptop.

Getting the BSOD now when using my original monitor, have updated all the drivers I was able to. Going to see if any of that works.

Will reply to this thread.

Thanks

AVG had issues early on in the beta days of Win8. I'd suggest that you:
- uninstall AVG
- run this free removal tool to remove any remnants that may be left behind: AVG | Download tools and utilities
- then be sure that Microsoft Defender and the Windows Firewall are enabled (look in the Action Center that's in the Notification Area (System Tray - down by the clock in the lower right corner of the Desktop).
- monitor for further BSOD's.

If that doesn't stop it, then I'd next suggest that you run Driver Verifier according to these directions: Driver Verifier Settings

Memory dumps still blame the wifi drivers:

Hi,

Decided to do a complete reset of windows using the function in windows 8 settings and reinstall everything.

I have updated all my drivers, including the wifi to the latest version available for my wifi (atheros AR9485WB-EG, driver is 10.0.0.234 dated 11/03/2013).

Did not install AVG and are using Windows Defender and Firewall instead and Malwarebytes anti-malware.

I am hoping that it was some sort of driver conflict and this will have sorted things out with any luck.

I thank you for all the assistance you have provided.

Kind regards
Jamie
