Hi all, its a brand new Win 8 PC and I noticed this error after it was delivered to me.
It boots up and complains its had an error and wants me to send files to MS.
I didn't think too much of it as it seems to work fine and I was going to re install the OS and get it up to date for the person I'm setting it up for.

So I'm now pretty much done setting it up and its still doing the same thing.
Have attached the dump and have tried memtest and stress test and all appears well.

Thanks in advance for your help and this is a great forum as well.

Hey.

Turn off Verifier. (It can slow the system down and usually doesn't show offending drivers, as not in this case too.)

Update those drivers from the manufacturer and you're good. Off the top of my head, they're for you mouse (and /or kb).

On another note, I'm not a huge fan of AVG due to severe global issues with that in the past. Look to switch that if for some reason you still have issues. (You most likely won't though.)

Hi,

I turned off verifier and it made no difference, I then Googled Alpham164.sys and found that it relates to the very old zboard kb I was using. I plugged in a plain old kb and the problem went away, I hadn't loaded any win 8 drivers for the kb as I expected it to just work in a plain way and it did work fine apart from the error.

Anyway thank you very much for your help as trying a new kb to fix the issue couldn't have been further from my mind.

Its just dawned on me and I may be wrong, but that means that as I didn't load any drivers for the kb, its basically MS's fault then for keeping incompatible drivers on their OS's?
