    BSOD on every cold boot.

Hi there... After scouring threads and trying all fixes suggested I'm giving up and posting my own.

The issue: Every boot after computer has been off for more than a minute produces a BSOD with KERNEL DATA INPAGE ERROR code.

    What I've tried:
    Windows reinstall - issue persists
    Drivers - up to date
    CHKDSK - no errors
    MEMTEST 86 - no errors
    SFC /SCANNOW - no errors
INTEL SSD TOOLBOX - no errors

    Here are my system specs:

    Operating System
    Microsoft Windows 8 Pro 64-bit
    CPU
    Intel Core i7 3820QM @ 2.70GHz 40 ░C

Also... looking at event viewer in windows I see a critical error logged at this same time which doesn't make sense seeing as I had shut down the computer properly.

"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Are your hard drives in good order? This has been the number 1 issue with Windows 8 that I have been posting about over and over:

"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
If this happens, you need to check your hard drive's entire surface, windows 8 can't repair read element failure, and once again, this sounds like a hard drive that has developed errors. The problems are intermittent at first, then they compound and multiply.

If your system did not do an Automatic Repair after that shutdown, it still needs to scan the disks, rather than depending on Windows 8 to do it, I always use Hiren's Boot disk and Mini XP to scan the drives, and then I run a surface scan with one of the many DOS programs on the disk. Lately I have been keeping a flash drive in my pocket with Hiren's on it, you just plug it in and boot from it and do whatever checks you want.

Do Surface scan with GWscan and then a full CHKDSK /x /r from Mini XP, then shut down, wait until it cools off, and see if you get the same BSOD.

(edit) I see you have already done a CHKDSK, but don't take that program's word for it until you have run GWscan, because sometimes CHKDSK will say "clean" but other ares of the disk that it cannot scan may have developed problems.

(edit #2) - I thought I HAD posted to the original thread, but it was in General Support when I did, now it is here, many apologies

I was unable to locate GWscan that would work with my win8. I did however use the intel ssd full diagnosis scan again with no errors. Could you point me in the direction of GWscan?
    Many thanks for your assistance!

FYI... Learned two sets of ram in the system were different voltages. Removed one set. Problem persists.

EventID 41 is Windows way of saying "WTF?". It's just an error that says Windows doesn't know why it shut down.
If you didn't cause this error by holding the power button down (to shut off the system) then it most likely is a hardware problem.

Start with these free diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

Hi Usasma, Thanks for the assistance. Attached are the dmp zip files as requested. I've run some of the hardware torture tests already with no problems but will do more later in the day.
    Thanks again,
    Ty

All the reports aren't in the uploaded files. Please run the reports again and let it run for at least 15 minutes (or until the app itself tells you that it's done).

Have a look at the Usual Causes here: BSOD Index
Mostly hardware, but just enough drivers to not make it easy

Nothing of real note in the drivers listed in the memory dumps, so it's most likely hardware/BIOS issues. Continue with the hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

    Windows 8 & Windows 7 Dual Boot

    A question and a suggestion..

Q: did you install this OS to replace a virus infected previous OS?

If you did, then you need to scan your hidden partition and your system restore files.

S: Start the computer in safe mode

    Run through your programs normally.

If all is well then your issue is either a bad driver, virus, or a bad service running.

Start with a full virus scan, if its clean then go to MSCONFIG and disable all startup programs

If viruses found and cleaned, reboot normally, run system. if all ok then a stubborn virus that could only be removed from safemode was removed.

If no virus then run MSCONFIG and disable all startup programs

    reboot

if all ok then diagnose the bad startup program

If all not ok goto MSCONFIG and go to SERVICES and click (hide microsoft services) then click (disable all services)

    Reboot

If all ok then find the bad service by enabling 10 or 20 at a time ( dont do 1 at a time it takes forevvvvver) (I know!)
until the glitch comes back then isolate the service

If you cannot find a bad service but the system works fine in safe mode, then you should remove your computers access to SYSTEM RESTORE either by renaming the folder if you can, or copying the contents to a different folder then deleting the SYSTEM RESTORE files or folder. System restore saves virused files as well unfortunately and your computer may be restoring viruses via Task scheduler, java script, internet connection, or fake update..

Bottom line is if it works in safe mode with no problems then its a bad or corrupt file that windows does not need.
Maybe a system file check may replace the bad file if its a windows file

    SFC /SCANNOW

    good luck

    Brooklyn!
