    Another Driver_Power_State_Failure

For a long time I needed a new computer so I finally had enough money to build a nice PC for myself... Sabertooth 990fx, 16Gb, FX-8350, GTX 660 oc and a some other goodies! Well, everything went well up to when my computer decided to sleep. Every time I put it in sleep mode it crashes (Driver_Power_State_Failure)! All drivers and BIOS are up to date... not sure what to do next?! I would really appreciate if anyone could give me a hand with this problem.

    Thank you all!

All BSOD's caused by amd_sata.sys and dated 9/17/2012. You might want to check if they have a newer version. In addition. Avast might be the cause so please uninstall and let it run for a while to see if problem re-occurs.

EDIT: use this to uninstall AVAST:

Thank you Topgun. I have uninstalled Avast and the driver amd_sata.sys I have seems to be the newest available. Unfortunately the problem continuous. Any other ideas?

I really appreciate your help; cheers.

    1. Please download Download CCleaner 4.00.4064 - FileHippo.com, install and run to clean the registry.
    2. open an elevated command prompt, type sfc /scannow to fix any corrupted system files, may need to run multiple times
    3. open an elevated command prompt, type chkdsk C: /r /f to fix any errors on the HD.

Sorry it took me so long to answer. I was out of town for the whole weekend. So I have done like you said topgun; CCleaner + sfc + chkdsk... CCleaner fixed some issues, and I ran sfc and chkdsk; I believe no issues there... Initially I thought the problem was solved since when the computer came back from the sleep mode, the mouse was working fine. However as soon as I try to open any program; BSOD comes back to live! I am not sure what else I can do to be honest: any other suggestions?
(I have attached a new error file from my last BSOD)

    Thank you very much everyone!

Ok everyone... After a couple weeks of extreme headache with this computer trying to solve this problem... I finally fixed it!
The solution: Make sure you have connected your Optical drive to a different port set than your regular Hard drives... (ex: Asmedia or something similar)

I am not sure if that is common knowledge nowadays and I am just old and outdated (yes I am old... IDE old!) or if that is just a particular problem of mine... However, regardless of the answer I believe I am not alone and I hope this topic can help some other lost souls with the same problem!

Anyways; thank you everyone from this forum... you guys are awesome!
