I am curious why can't you update your BIOS ?. Since you did not have a crash dump, it's hard to isolate the problem even though the crash dump sometimes just gives you a glue of what might have been wrong. However, can you upload the rest of the info using Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions so I can have further looks.

In the mean time, please download Hiren's BootCD 15.2 - All in one Bootable CD » www.hiren.info, burn it to CD/USB and run the memory diagnostic test. You should run it overnight from 6-8 hours to have the test passes a few times.

Also, open an elevated command prompt and run : sfc /scannow to make sure that your system files are not corrupted and also run: chkdsk c: /f /r , this is also a long process so please be patient.

Good luck !!! and please report back how it goes.

I was able to successfully update my BIOS today. It did not fix the problem. I posted this in BSOD issues because of how much it resembled a BSOD crash. I've checked my system logs, and all it says is the system shutdown unexpectedly. Nothing more. So yes, this problem is being a major pain to isolate. I'll run the program you suggested tomorrow and tell you how that goes.

Updated which driver??? I updated, and then re-installed my video card drivers trying to fix this but it didn't work. Are you talking about your video card drivers? If so what video card do you have?

Yeah, the video card driver. I have a Radeon HD5450. Not a gamer's video card but I did have that same problem. My monitor just suddenly dies and it won't go back until I do a hard reset. And because it (the video card) is a heat sink type (no fan) I also installed a PCI slot fan which I think also helped a lot. Never had a single problem since.

Ok... After trying everything you suggested and still having the same problem, I refreshed my PC. Saving my files, but uninstalling all apps and programs from my computer. The first thing I did when my computer was refreshed was download a game. "War Thunder" to be exact. My computer fans went crazy, and the whole thing crashed again. I honestly don't know what else to try...

OK. If that's the case then check your CPU Heatsink, make sure it has good contact and also you might need to apply some thermal paste. CPU chip has a thermal sensor and if the temp get too high, it will shut the computer down completely.

EDIT: Did you use the stock fan that came with the CPU ? those are useless. You might consider upgrading it.

I've already checked the heatsink. It is placed correctly. I also added some fairly expensive thermal paste when I originally installed it. See, I can start the computer, and immediately launch a game when it boots, and it won't take 30 seconds to crash now. It's getting worse.

Hmm. So where is the loud fan coming from ? can you tell whether it's from the CPU fan or from the GPU fan ? what software do you use to monitor the temp ?
