Variety of BSODS Returning

Hi there guys!

I thought I had fixed my BSOD Issues ( Driver IRQL not less or equal, dpc watchdog violation, dxgmms1.sys, kernel security check failure, Pagefault in non paged area ) by increasing the voltage to my ram, rolling back my video card drivers and using a wired ethernet internet connection.

It worked for a couple of weeks but it seems now I'm back to square one and I'd appreciate any help. I'm not really sure what to do from here onward. I have run MEMTEST to verify that the ram was okay, which it was after 19 passes of the test. I have re installed windows 8 many times formatting my hard drive before each install. Run the computer without the graphics card, but I'm still having problems and I have no idea what to do.

Again any help at all would be appreciated, and I'd also like to note that I had these issues with Windows 7 too

I've look at least 10 recent crash dumps. They were all caused by various drivers including 2 memory corruptions. Normally, I would think it is something wrong with your RAM. However, you said you ran the memory tests and had 19 passes. What memory diagnostics program did you use ? How much voltage did you increased ? If too much might get the RAM hot and might mess up the timings, suggest you to relax the timings a little lower than the spec. In addition, in your DriverList.txt, there are couple of really old drivers, namely: Nfrd960.sys, secdrv.sys dated back to 2006 and something does not look right that you also have a Null driver:
nfrd960 nfrd960 Kernel 06/06/2006 22:11:48
secdrv Security Driver Kernel 13/09/2006 14:18:38
Null Null Kernel 26/07/2012 03:30:16

You might want to look at which device is using these 2 drivers and update them.

Hi

I used memtest 86+ to run the ram tests. I let it run overnight which allowed it to complete 19 passes.
The voltage is 1.56 up from 1.50.

Sorry for the noob question but what is a Null Driver?

Thanks so much for the help!

Also I'm extremeely sorry but I have no idea how to find out about the devices that use those drivers. All I have been able to determine so far is that Nfrd960.sys is an IBM driver, and secdrv.sys is an intel disc security driver

This is a very long process so please be patient. You might want to run it before you go to bed and let it run over night. Stuck @ 27% might be a bad spot that chkdsk is trying to fix.

I went through and updated as many drivers as I could and all was well until a couple of minutes ago when I got another BSOD.

I'm not sure what it was this time and I've checked that all my drivers are up to date via Intel and Smart Driver Update utility

Hard drive comes up as fine, still getting BSODS :(

The 2006 drivers all seem to be usb related which the BSODS seem to be blaming as usbport.sys bar the 1 ntoskrnl.sys crash. I'm not actually sure how to go about updating the USB drivers so help would be again appreciated

While waiting for topgundcp, please give this a try:

FYI - this is a Windows 7 memory dump

Remove the AsRock XFastUSB package (and the XFastLAN package if you have it). These are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

Remove the AsRock AppCharger utility as it's known to also cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

netr28ux.sys Wed Feb 25 21:49:17 2009 (49A6032D)
Ralink RT2870 series USB802.11n Wireless Adapter Driver (you may have a different manufacturer)
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=netr28ux.sys

Please note that this is a USB wireless network adapter - Windows doesn't like these devices:
I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win7/Win8 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7(and I suspect with Win8) - using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7/Win8 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

If this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these directions: Driver Verifier Settings

Have you uninstalled the software for the wireless USB network device?
If not, try that first.

Then, if it's still there, try this:
1) Create a Restore Point using System Restore
2) Create a Repair disc:
Win7 - Go to Start...All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc
Win8 - Press "WIN" and "R" to open the Run dialog...type "RECDISC" (without the quotes) and press ENTER
3) Test the System Repair disc to make sure that you can get to the System Restore entry when you boot from the disk (you may also want to try actually using System Restore to make sure that it works)
4) Download this free program (Autoruns for Windows) and use it to disable any instances of netr28ux.sys that are starting (or any other wireless USB software entries) (DO NOT DELETE - only disabled by removing the checkmark in the left hand column)
5) Check in Device Manager (to include showing hidden devices from the View menu item) and ensure that any instances of netr28ux.sys (or any other wireless USB software entries) are "Uninstalled" (DO NOT DISABLE THESE).
6) Check in the Services applet (services.msc) to be sure any instances of netr28ux.sys or any other wireless USB software entries are disabled.
7) Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and rename the netr28ux.sys driver to netr28ux.BAD

In the event that the system doesn't boot:

1) Boot from the System Repair disc and use the Command Prompt option to rename netr28ux.BAD to netr28ux.sys
2) Boot from the System Repair disc and use the System Restore option to restore the system to a point before the changes were made.

Good luck!

Yes I did uninstall the actual D-Link Program that the USB Wireless Card uses, and then I updated the driver list via the SF tools program and the netr28ux.sys driver still remains. I've gotten rid of all of the Asrock stuff too and it really seems to have worked so far. I'm currently running the computer on good ol' Ethernet and it's been fairly stable apart from when I went to shutdown when I got a wdf0100.sys error!

It's been looking good for the last 9 days up until today. Computer has an irql not less or equal, and then special pool detected memory corruption.

The frequently occuring bsods must have been caused by the wireless adapter driver because i haven't had a crash whilst using the computer. ALso the above bsods happened after computer had been on and not used for three days.

What do I do now, check hard drive?
