Hi

Recently got a new computer.
I get BSOD just randomly, it doesnt seem to happen while playing games, they only crash.
When i get the BSOD the sounds also get stuck, if you know what i mean.

The error messages ive gotten so far:
NTFS_File_System
Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
pfn_list_corrupt
Kernel_check_security_failure

Ive added a screenshot of the message i get after the PC restarted.
I run W8, 64 bit.

All BSOD's are caused by Memory Corruption. That means you might have a bad RAM stick. Please download Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool . burn it to CD/USB then run the memory diagnostic.

It is important to run the test for at least 8-10 hours unless it fails ealier.

I think its the error caused by any of your system file which is corrupted. So you run CMD as administrator and run the following command :-

sfc /snannow

When its complete see if your problem is fixed or not. If not then you can Try Refresh or Reset your Windows 8 from PC Settings.

It could also be caused by any virus so you uninstall Avast and Scan your PC with a better antivirus like Bitdefender or Kaspersky.

Kaspersky Detects and eliminates 90% of virus And Bitdefender Detects and eliminates 80% of virus.

Hope this will help...........

Prolem still persists. Had the computer on for just a few hours and got BSOD 3 times.
I've run sfc/scannow two times, first it said it fixed some files, second time i got this message: windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations. Read the logfile after the scan, was just blank.

I did a refresh, i looked into doing a system restore -there was so restore point before the BSOD started so no point in doing that??
Ive changed to Bitdefender, did a virus scan as well - nothing found.

View attachment 19358I also got this message when trying to start bf3, not sure if its related to the bsod problems, but when i googled the error code it didnt look good.

Any suggestions what to do next? Much appreciated!

Did you installed any updates before you got the first BSOD? if yes then try uninstalling that update and try again. And nothing can fix your problem the there is the last and final way is to reinstall your Windows. If then also the problem persists then this is the fault of your any Hardware. Anyway what are you using A HDD or an SSD and of which brand? It could be or may be the problem of your HDD but I am not sure so try reinstalling your windows.

Yeah im pretty sure i installed update, drivers, games etc before the first BSOD. Might as well just go for a windows reinstall and see what happens. Im using HDD, Seagate Barracuda 1TB sata 3.0.
