    Random BSOD's

I have posted a similar issue before, however as it's been so long and I've done lots of changes since then, I thought I'd post again. So sorry for any trouble.

Over the past seven months I have been getting random BSOD's. They happen at different times, sometimes can happen a few times in an hour, sometimes it won't happen for a couple of days. The messages are different each time.

We have tried multiple fixes, such as memtests, updating firmware, updating drivers, cleaning case / fans, running SystemCare software, re-installing Windows 8, re-applying thermal paste, all of which have no effect. Sometimes it may seem to have improved, only to start happening again soon after.

Also, I'll add that I was having the same issue on Windows 7, which is why I did a full re-install and upgraded to Windows 8. I have re-installed Windows 8 twice since the first install.

I recently began getting different crashes, with the message CPU over heated. I re-applied the thermal paste, and have now starting getting the Random BOSD's again.

Any advice on this would be great as I'm seriously stuck for ideas.

Random BSOD's is a sign of having a bad memory stick and the dump files also indicated memory corruption. Download Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool and burn it to CD/USB, boot up and run the memory diagnostic test.

This test will require to run at least 8-10 hours to actually detect any errors since different test patterns will be performed unless the errors occur before the required time. Having the test passes couple of times does not mean your memory is good.

Thank you, I'll give this a try.
If it is memory, then I'll be very pleased :P Gunna swap my brothers memory for mine and see if he blue screens, if so, I'll buy new memory tomorrow. Seems quicker to do it that way then a mem test.

Seems to be fixed. It appeared to be a memory comparability issue, even though I bought my memory and motherboard together. Swapped the memory over from another PC and both seem to be running fine. Haven't BS'd in 18 hours so far. +1
